I built two of the pop can cutters(plans on Castboolits). The results were...they cut very good representations of what they were supposed too but the intended usage of the can cuttings was a complete failure for me.
The single thickness alum. were billed as a GC for plain based cast slugs but I couldnt get many of them to grip sufficiently to a bullet so off to the secondary trial , doubling up & using on a GC shanked slug, same issue, the second layer of GC would easily slide off the first layer.
I turned out that I never fired a round with a pop can GC for fear of the check coming off mid bore travel and creating a bore blockage.
I still use both cutters but only for cutting wax paper for over-powder paper wads between BP & grease cookie.
