Hi..

Friend of mine is looking for one.. in .308.
does anyone know where to find one..? I found one in Target sports, but want to compare prices somewhere else.

Does anyone know if one can put a magpul prs stock on this gun? Are there any mods required to do so?

At the OP, check out wolverine supplies.

Call the shooting edge in Calgary, chances are it will be the same price as Target Sports in Toronto. The wholesalers have a lot in stock the retailers are not carrying them due to the high price and low demand, you can get one from any dealer that deals with HK, just remember to order extra Mags. Don't think you can do better than $4400 tax in.

I just spat Scotch all over my computer.

People pay what for a heavy AR?
People pay that much because it says HK on it. Sure as hell not worth that to me. A DPMS at a third the cost would shoot just as well I'm sure, and the $3,000 I saved would sure buy a lot of ammo.

Not sure if you can get teh HK 417 in Canada but if he wants an MR 308 there is one on the shelf at target sports North of Toronto for $4100 plus tax The shooting edge in Calgary has one also, and there are a pile at the distributor so there are not hard to get.

Agree 100%. I good friend just got one and I am not seeing the value, not at almost $5000 for the unit and that does not even include the flash hider, another $150 HK proprietary part. A little expensive for Sunday morning plinking in my opinion.

I love my MR308 as well, but yes there are possibly better value for money rifles out there.
I didn't buy the HK branded flash hider so I only paid 50 for it. Actually I have an extra flash hider for it as it turns out.

I have made many mistakes and paid twice for guns what I thought I should have and lots of folks laughed at me, a few years later I was the one seling them for twice what I paid and they were selling for 1/2. Guns are funny that way. the less there are the more they are worth in time AND it often takes years to understand the true value of a gun.

Actually i would say no to that, for the quality of the rifle and price compared to other 7.62/308 rifles it actually is a great choice, and in many ways MR308 is probably the best choice.

Just look at the price of the KAC rifles upwards of over $5500, POF is another great choice too and there rifles run for around 3900 not including tax! The benefits of these rifles shine especially when in time and amount of ammo you are running through them.

I would buy any of them, doesn't matter to me if it is a POF, KAC,LMT or HK they are all great, i think it is only a matter of availability and cash to spend, remember optics too ammo and other things as well

If i win the lottery anytime soon all be calling one shot tactical and cleaning his stock out that is for sure! Guys like us never win the lottery though!

As for the MR223 although i own it and it is a great rifle i think it is slightly over price by a good $500 bucks, really tax is what kills it, plus the lack of support for parts by HK is a real downer too. I know the euro currency makes it worse plus all the other fees, but still compared to the market and other rifles out there and especially what it comes in are not good either. The upside though is that rifle will last longer than most and is built too last, definitely a one stop rifle that will have little issue if ever for the experienced shooter!

The pins issue is practically a non-issue to me & should be to most experienced AR enthusiasts!

But here is a question who is bringing in any 20/5 H&K mags for the 417/MR308 line, was going to try an order through H&K parts.net through a retailer up here but they don't have any so, who is going to bring them in?
