Where to find Tikka T3X actions?

Hey guys! Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I'm trying to put together a custom rifle and am having trouble finding actions by themselves. I'm looking for a left handed Tikka T3X action in 308. Can these be found separately in stores, or do I need to buy a whole rifle to scavenge the part? Or is there a distributor somewhere I need to talk to? Ultimately I'm going to be putting it into an MDT LSS-XL gen 2 stock with a custom barrel.

Thanks in advance!

Buy full - dismantle - build

Despite Tikka being a great building platform, their platform has a poor supply for parts (not aftermarket). Example, bolts, actions, parts for bolts, etc

At one point ### International sold bare Tikka actions and barreled actions. They were still listed on their website the last time I was on it, but their inventory list was from 2019 IIRC. May be worthwhile giving them a call.

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Maybe I'll rethink the build if Tikka is that annoying.

you know if you want to build - you may consider a custom action and build from there - may cost some coin but you will get action wrench etc with it and when you shoot out or want another caliber just unscrew the old barrel - guess in the long run you will save some money since you will not be funding a Smith

It’s not annoying once you get the action.

The aftermarket world for tikka is good. But if you intend on multi caliber rifle, where it requires different bolt faces, etc, then expect to pay a pretty penny for those parts, or put in the work to harvest/sell off a rifle.

The tikka action is a great build to go with. Don’t let the initial frustration sway you.

I’ve been on the hunt for another cheap donor so I can get a couple pieces. I’ve got my one build done already, so I have patience on this next go.
I’ve seen T3s go up for $500ish in the EE, but they’re snagged within seconds.
$600-700 don’t last long either. $800+ and the rifles tend to sit

Thanks. Yeah, I handled a T3X at the local shop and loved the action. I'll keep an eye out for something.

If you’re doing the work yourself, factory barrels are screwed on by Thor.

Enough patience, and the right tools and they come out.
I kept mine without a barrel nut.

This allows me to swap barrels without a smith or headspacing each time.

I had a local machinist do up a copy of the Ross Vice, which now makes me able to use it as a quick change if I want, and without the use of an action wrench.

I can use factory barrels that get sold off from people’s builds, and my custom barrels I can either have the barrel manufacturer turn it for a Tikka, since the tolerances on them are so tight, it’s like using a custom action.

In terms of finding parts. It's a little unfortunate if I have to buy an entire rifle just to get an action. Waste of money.

Not really a rem 700 action is the main "cheap" option for bare actions and with paying to get it blueprinted and a good trigger your already above the price of a new tikka. Buy the tikka rob the action and sell the rest off and you will be way better ahead money wise than if you bought a 700 action. Unless you are planning on going with a custom action finding a bare action is difficult.

Gotcha. What do you mean by getting it "blueprinted"?
