Where'd the Howa 1500 375 Ruger go?

;)
Pretty sure it wont, as it is the better caliber in a cheaper platform. Now that everyone knows about blowing out .300wm brass, there is no shortage of good brass. Dude, the main reason that the .375 H & H isn't in everyone's gun locker is that 1) the guns are usually too expensive for the average Joe to afford. 2) brass is damn expensive
3) ammo availability is not great outside the big cities. 4) It is usually chambered in a big , unweildy, gun with a long barrel that just doesn't fit a lot of people well. The 26" barrel on most H & H guns is just not what people want these days. Plus it's a magnum length action. Too many DINOSAUR reasons to stay on top. The .375 Ruger is the new Alpha Male Dino on the block.

What ever Rock ! Brass - Loaded Ammo is MUCH more available and affordable for a H&H then the Ruger ! Blown out WRONG headstamped brass is Junk ! Lots of Resonable price H&H chambered rifles sold here and there all the time ! Barrel lenght is More like 24 " AVG- as all Magnums should have and a 1/4 " longer action throw is REALLY not noticeable ! The 375 Ruger is a Good cartridge BUT don't EVER think for a second its Better then the 375 H&H ! BECAUSE your Wrong ! Hail the real KING the 375 H&H ! ;)

Cheers RJ

Most factory H&H's don't have 26" barrels, in fact very few do. The CZ's have 25.6" and while they are one of the more common factory rifles they would be one of the few that comes close to that as a standard barrel length offering.
Also, who makes readily available factory ammo for the Ruger? How many companies worldwide make ammo for the H&H? For the latter it is made as standard production ammo by companies from Serbia to Germany to Czech Republic to Sweden to the US to South Africa, and more.

The Ruger is very good and very practical cartridge that I really like but it is a stretch to claim it as vastly superior. It simply isn't.

Well Spoken ! Agree 100 % ! RJ

Does the Howa in 375 Ruger allow you seat the bullets out a bit, or are you restricted to MAX COAL of 3.34 as per the 375 Ruger specs?

Even M77 actions allow me to have a COL of 3.400"
I use that on 4 different loads and all shoot under 1"
In fact the worst loads I have loading for a 375ruger were 300g hornady FMJ even they were 1.5"-2" groups.

I bought a 375 H&H Remington Stainless and have hunted Africa with it 3 times now.........the best of all worlds...............Howa has most likely dropped that silly chambering, as every one knows it's dying anyway. Now that the Vanguard is being offered in the H&H I would expect you will soon see the Howa in the H&H as well and the Imposter will very shortly be forgotten.
You could always buy a Mossberg in 375 Imposter, I hear they're making them now............what a perfect match.........made in heaven as they say........

I had a Mossberg in 375 Ruger. Very sound for the price, good shooting too. Like a base model F150. Couldn't compete with the CZ550 in H&H rifle to rifle though. 1 had to go. Quite light too, not for the recoil sensitive with max loads. My CZ is heavy with the Boyd's stock; at some point I'll go for a 257-284 screamer when I get tired of lugging the CZ around every day.

I was on the hunt for 375 H&H but had no luck wound up getting a Hawkeye in 375 ruger for the right Price
I think it will have the same effect on grizzly lol
The 375 ruger even with all its handicaps shood work out HaaaHaaa

I have a Vanguard in 375 H&H, and have certainly not lost any sleep because it in not a Ruger.

Accurate, feeds like a fat boy at a buffet, and fires, extracts and ejects properly. Can the Ruger do any better?

A 7 1/2 pound Mosserg Patriot in 375 Ruger might make it a prince! ;)
