Which 1911 is most reliable/affordable?

Ive been researching alot and when I came across Kimber ive heard theyre extremely overpriced and come with real ####ty mags... Looking at a springfield now and a para.ord... Any other recommendations?

Reliable==Colt. Everything else is just a reverse engineered copy.
Affordable==lots of knock-offs available. You pick your price point.

How did you arrive at that conclusion? I own a few Colts including Gold Cup and my Norinco is every bit as functional.

well, best bang for your buck is going to be norinco or dominion arms, same thing really, but if you`re set on a name, go fondle them in a store, they all have a slight different feel, me, i dont like the way a colt feels in my hands, same with a sig, i like Para and kimber, do i own either?..nope, i have a dominion and 2 norinco`s and a CZ , till i`m better at shooting my pistols i`m not willing to go sink a large amount of money on them, next year , if i still like em, i`ll upgrade,

but start where ever you are comfortable

If you want an economical working military pistol a Norinco 1911A1 is hard to beat.

If you want an expensive variation, assuming the more you pay the better it is, have a look at Turnbull Model 1911

My Norinco works just as good as my pals Nighthawk as far as function goes. The Nighthawk has better sights, nicer trigger, finish, balance, and feel, but at the end of the day they both go bang. And I could have a dozen Norcs for what his cost.

Try a shooters arms 1911. I've had 2 now. Better fit, Finnish, and sights than the Norinco. They come in at around $445-$480 for the basic models at wolverine.
