which .22 to choose under $700?

Lots of good advice from the fellas
The 1022 and all the wannabe badboy aftermarket parts have made them pretty popular , so popular I find them rather ho-hum anymore.

There is another choice of buying a used rifle.
There is plenty out there , very shootable , fun , accurate .... and lets not forget to mention very affordable.
You never know what you may find...

all in i paid about $600 for my 10/22 target with scope & bipod i am wicked happy with my ruger

so far what I did was scope.. bolt buffer take some recoil out mostly clanging.. vq hamer and sear kit volstion target disconector auto bolt release... total added was 188 for all the mod parts tax in another 160 for scope and rings.. and 349 for the gun total 697 still no bipod after market barrel + stock... (maby latter but shoots good and Im happy with it as is..

for 700 I could of got a way niced .22 but.. I decided I wanted to pimp it out with what I want instead..

I really like my CZ 452 with the Brooks trigger kit. I also have a CZ 527 with the set trigger. I think the gun with the Brooks kit has the nicer trigger for a lot less money to boot. The 452 is definitely a quality gun and is very nice to handle. Best of all it has excellent accuracy. Take a real hard look at what CZ rimfires are available. They offer some extremely nice stocks in several different configurations (heavy barrel, full stock, etc.).

Savage! Hands down best 22 out of the box, a lil bit more to scope with the weaver rings but still worth it.

The Classic and thumhole version Savage have very nice looking stocks. Too bad about the cheap fit/finish. Especially the horribly cheap looking mag system. If they fixed those issues I'd buy a few with those nice stocks. I think CZ would have serious competition if that happened. Until then, I wouldn't buy a savage, unless it was for a farm/truck gun that was going to get beat around.

I bought a number of Walther rifles last year in the EE under the $700 price point. Absolutely no regrets. Fantastic bolt action rifles, especially for the price. Very accurate, excellent craftsmanship.

1.I want the high-gloss or alike walnut stock with nice grains.
2.I want the rifle to be all-METAL.
3. I want a rifle can achieve 0.5 at 50 yard consistently without modification.
4. Around 700 for rifle itself.

I will get a 10/22 after this purchase if I have money left. Thanks for all the sights.

Give Ellwood Epps a call they have a couple BRNO #5 under $500, or a original browning T-Bolt under$500.If U want something new go with the CZ bolt or cz semi both have decent wood and are accurate,Dale in T-Bay

I have 2 saki QUAD"S (NIB) 22 l.r. for $785 ea. firm. Check out any gun store, this is a bargoon!!

sweet, a bargoon, i hear you only find those in the sleaziest of establishments:p

if you want to sell them, how about creating an add in the EE, instead of hocking them in a discussion thread, you might get more interest.

ohh, and ruger 10/22 all the way:)

I forgot to add, The Thompson R55 benchmark would be my first choice for the list of requirements provided. It's pretty tough to beat a semi for pure fun factor. With an out of the box semi as accurate as these ones, it's an easy choice. The trigger is a bit heavy straight out of the box, but it's clean and crisp, so you can still shoot very small groups.
