Thinking of a decent .22lr pistol for under one thousand. Thinking of an IZH-35M or even a Ruger Mark 111 Hunter (or 22/45 Hunter) in mind.
If I buy the the Izhmash I can use it for competition if I choose and if the Rugers then just for plinking and informal target shooting.
Q: The length of barrel on the hunters; will it make any difference at 50 yards? I am partial to the 4 1/2" barreled hunters as opposed to anything longer. Actually the standard thin barrels are just as accurate I believe.
A Walther GSP Expert would be nice but at $2,000 it is a bit pricey.
I do not even know where the IZH-35M or Walther can be purchased. Anyone know?

I think the Rugers look better than all other .22 pistols...and they shoot great too.
