Several suppliers you listed would've got my vote if you changed your price point .
At a $1500.00 max budget I voted STI , but I'd save extra for the Kimber or Dlask .

I just bought the S&W 1911 PD Tactical Rail series. I fell in love with it while inspecting it at the store. I'm not an expert on 1911's, but it had all the bells and whistles I was looking for and light weight to boot! Waiting on my ATT to go pick it up. :)

I would say Dlask. Reason being is most guys by a 1911 and end up customizing what they bought.

Why not just get a gun built from scratch to your specs?

I've personally shot S&W, Para, Kimber & STI 1911 variants.

Making a choice boggles my mind. They are all so perfect!

The S&W all stainless is just orgasmic, shoots true as ever.

The Para, fit the hand perfect and muzzle jump on them are........near non existent.

Kimber's the "tacticool" one of the bunch I find, an the STI's, jesus christ it's a gift from god.

Pick your poison, hopefully you won't be let down like I was.

I voted Kimber, and here's why:

Need I say more?

Out of all the guns I own, this is my favorite.

I want a super accurate and fun to shoot 45 ACP.

I allready have one but it is a S&W 4506-1 it's poor trigger leaves a little to be desired when it comes to nice tight groups.

My limit to spend is around the $1500 mark.

Any other suggestions.

I don't think you can go wrong with an STI Spartan at $800...you can almost buy two of them within your budget. Or better yet, one gun and lotsa' ammo!

I have a Para SSP and a stainless Series 80 Colt. The Kimber Eclipse, IMHO, would be on my short list but I'd also consider one of the Colt NM Gold Cups that are currently on the EE if I were looking for a 1911.

I have a number of 1911 model handguns specifically for target (Bullseye) discipline shooting. Most model 1911s are not the most accurate due to their being designed for military use.
However, with a little work they can be made into tack drivers. From my experience the best from the box in the $1000 to $1500 range would be a Springfield loaded or Para SX745S. Just my opinion.(Handgunner for 45 yrs)

As I mentioned in another thread. I have Both a Kimber and a Para 1911 as well as an STI.
I would sell the Para, and STI to finance another Kimber, but not the other way around.

May I suggest a new commer to the 1911 stable, and its italian.

Take a look at the Pardini 1911 - Cost is aboout 1500$, adjustable sights and trigger. This pistol is made my a top Olympic pistol maker, so its accuracy likely isn't an issue!
