Your an Americian GI, you have to pick what weapon you want to use, its an open poll, so pick two please, three at the most.

When I get it all done, will do a poll on the most popular firearms picked, and see which is the most popular.

Yes I tried this before, but the poll section did not work when my PC did the hic up and shut down as I was doing the 10 opitions.

I will do canada/Uk tomorrow, won't do France lol

Just doing the big 4 countries . As everyone else used their firearms.

I would definitely take the m1 garand sniper rifle. It offers respectable firepower at a good rate.
For short range, i would take an smg but first i should educate myself a bit more about us made smg-s

As a squad leader: M1 Carbine with a .45 on the belt.

I'll leave everything else to the conscripts.

I've owned and/or fired everything on the list and liked them all. Fact is a soldier mostly uses what he is issued as per the unit TO&E.

Now for sheer fun the one to shoot is the .50 Browning on a flex mount. There is nothing quite like the Leopard cough of that piece as you move those big lazy tracers onto the target waaay downrange.

I picked a 03 Springfield for accuracy and reliability(would much rather have my Enfield). Then a M1A1 for when SHTF and a 1911 for when I run out of ammo.

I'd have to choose one of the original room-brooms, the Thompson.
Next would be a BAR. Just for the joy of a full auto 30-06.

1919a6for me- with the 45 backup- we had the a4 in nam- never had to worry about overheating, chaging barrels was a snap, etc- and NO FEEDING PROBLEMS

Not in the poll, but you did ask which American weapon I would want to use. If I had a choice, it would have to either be Little Boy or Fat Man.

Very few FTFs/FTEs and I'd probably only have to fire a few shots before the surrenders starting coming in.

You beat me to that one!

Given the weight of the Thompson, i don't think i would want to have to carry that around only to have .45 ACP bullets coming out of the front end. I'll pick the 1911 as sidearm and the Garand.

I would go with the Garand and the 1911. I don't have any hands-on experience, but I've read that the M1 Carbine's small round had trouble peircing even the German soldiers' heavy winter coats at a distance. Most of the soldiers fighting with the Carbine would switch it for a Garand at any chance. Of course I never fought in the war, so I'm just going by what I've read and seen on the internet, TV and books, but still, I would go with the 30-06 if I had the choice.
