Get a Colt LE6920 or something made right to at least TDP(MILSPEC) standard.
I ended up buying two M&P 's, since I liked the first one so much and the price was still $699. Pretty sure it's mil-spec, that's the stock I ended up buying, but I can't remember where I read that.
Stay away from the 6920's. They look like they're built in a chop shop now.
The M&P is a good place to start.
