Agree with you, a scope doesnt transform a regular infantry rifle into a match rifle. The Mosin sniper were selected because they were a bit more accurate than the whole lot but they still are not target rifle. A scope doesnt make a target rifle from a regular one, the scope allow you to see what you are aiming atI wish we could figure out together with a bottle of vodka what is sniper rifle to be consider in 1942. I don't want to argue with anyone here I just want to say that at that time anything that had a scope was consider to be a sniper.
