Which Geissele trigger for DD MK18?

I would like to upgrade my Daniel Defense MK18 (10.3" barrel) to a Geissele trigger but am having trouble deciding which one. Given that it's a shorter barrel AR15 more suitable for CQB I was thinking the SSA-E may not be the best choice since it's good for long range precision. But now I'm wondering if it would improve the shorter barrel's accuracy at longer range -- making it more versatile. I've read the SSA, which is a little heavier and breaks not as crisp as the SSA-E, is an excellent all around trigger. Lastly the S3G resembles more of a single stage trigger and is better for speed rather than accuracy -- which sounds like it may be more fun but I do want a degree of accuracy too. Then there is a "straight bow" version of all 3 of these triggers which makes the pull feel lighter.

Please keep in mind that I have an Eotech red dot sight paired with an Eotech 3X magnifier and I'm not an experienced shooter.
Can anyone weigh in on a good fit for my setup?

+1 For the SSA-E. I just put one in my 14.5 AR and my groups tightened up and I also had zero issues shooting in CQB type situations with the trigger. I've only put about 100 rounds down range with it but I do notice a difference and am a big fan of a two stage trigger. Previously I was shooting a stock DD trigger and at first the SSA-E felt to light but after some dry firing and actually putting some rounds down range it feels just fine. I think it will definitely improve your accuracy and group size regardless of barrel length. I think the pull weight is approximately 3 1/2 pounds so if your looking for something slightly heavier the SSA might be a better choice at 4 1/2 I believe.

SSA or SDC, same trigger mechanicals but different trigger shape (curved vs. flat) for a CQB gun you want the higher trigger weight. Still very smooth and very good trigger. The 4.5 lb weight is the min I would go for a CQB/working rifle.

I'd say go with the S3G. I have the same optic set up as you on my 14.5" AR and the S3G trigger makes a huge difference wrt accuracy. It just depends on what type of shooting you want to do as to which geissele trigger to go with. With a 10.3" barrel, I don't think you are going to get much more accurate with one any more than another.
I wouldn't think of the S3G trigger as speed vs. accuracy but more as improved speed AND accuracy. The clean, consistent break of the S3G will tighten your groups up without a doubt.
As has been said many times before though, these triggers are so nice they kind of ruin you for using lessor AR triggers.

Anyone know who has a S3G in stock.... I so want one on my MK18.

Arms East list having them in stock.

I've got the SSA in my DD v5 and I can't go back to stock again. I'm going to pick up a SSA-E for another rifle for more bench shooting. Never tried an SSA-E so this will be a first. Now to find those in stock. :p

For range shooting like, or ... 3gun ... v drill..... target not pass 500y... witch one... SSA SSA-E or S3G that the real Q !!!!! if there something esle beter for that purpose tell it :p

If you're shooting mostly bench, I'd probably opt for the SSA-E which is what I'm going to do. I have the SSA in another rifle and it's no slouch either. I don't think you can go wrong with either SSA or S3G with dynamic style shooting.

So if V-drill CQB and 3gun like shooting SSA-E is to avoid ? when it will getting warmer outside ill try to find some people with Geissele trigger an see what I prefer..it'S just to hard like this to make a choice.....

I use a ssa-e in several of my rifles that I use for 3 gun, service rifle and semi precision shooting. It is a versatile trigger and you will not be disappointed.

SD-3G officially turned mine into a machine gun. The flat bow trigger makes it feel 1lb less than the S3G.

Add a Surefire MB556k, now watch rounds all gather in one small circle.
