Which gun to take for grouse? Hmmm

I had the "which gun to take for grouse" decision yesterday. My two labs and I went out for a while and had three flushes with 2 birds taken. Most of the leaves are still on the trees and I didn't see any birds on one flush, even though I was only 15 feet away. I decided on a 5 3/4 lb, 90 year old Fox AE 20 gauge shooting Gamebore 2 1/2" shells. It was my first hunt with it and I think I may have found my new "go to" grouse gun. The dogs behaved great, the weather was good, and other than few birds it was a really nice day. I should have taken some pictures.

I mostly hunt grouse when I'm out in Saskatchewan. For that I like to use either the Old Man's Sauer (he usually uses the "Old" Sauer I use the "new" Sauer, both 12b) or sometimes Mom's Parker Trojan 16b. Haven't used my Superposed yet and it might be fun to try some time. Or my Ithaca 37.

Up here's it's strictly the 870.
