Which hunting rifle do you love to hate?

Not many guns that I hate, lots that I have no interest in, but I have to confess I'm developing an active dislike for anything Thompson Center, especially the Encore. All the TC's are butt ugly, but the encore has to be one of the most awkward, ungainly creations ever. And other than a front-loader, what could be slower to reload than a break-action non-ejecting single shot? Yet some people use these things on dangerous game?

I don't like their guns, but you have to respect TC's marketing skills; watch an afternoon of wild TV and you get the impression that no other gun was ever made worth having but a TC Encore.

My buddy, who first got me into handguns and who has had and still does have some high quality pieces, has been quite taken with TCs for quite a few years now. Primarily because of the way he has lavished praise on them, I've gone contrary to his teachings and have never touched one. In answer to his inquiries about my reluctance to have anything to do with him, ;)I told him I thought something like a TC Contender would be the ideal first gun for a backwoods teenager to get as a gift for graduating from elementry schoolLaugh2. Seriously though, and don't tell him I've said this, but in reality, they're probably okay but just not my cup of tea. I've been giving him such a bad time about them for so long now, it's too late to change course now:p.
