Which hunting rifle do you love to hate?

I also hate any rifle that looks like this

7600002-1.jpg

Nice siding there, Clarke! Didn't we see you wearing an outfit with the same color a while back?:p:D

I hate my hunting partners Remington 7600. Its 20+ years old, rusty, rode hard/ put away wet and crooked!
....and every year he shoots the moose with it :D

(obssessing about its sheer ugliness and hoping to jinx him, I took it last spring and refinished all the wood for him...now I love the damn thing  )

I love to hate the stainless synthetic stuff.....all the carefree hunting pleasure....screw you guys! a real rifle needs wood and bluing, and it wouldn't hurt if it looked like crap after a few years! That's the only kind of rifle I'm not a fan of, but may find myself sneaking into the store to buy someday;)

I love to hate the ruger 10/22. :nest:

With all of the accessories and mods that people do and brag about, it's over the top. Reminds me people who buy honda civics and slap on fart cans, fake hood scoops, underglow and whatever other stuff you can buy at canadian tire and the call it a race car :jerkit:
You forgot the cheese slicers on the trunk lid.

Hunting rifles I love to hate? Anything bearing the name weatherby makes me want to puke.:bangHead:

Im no fan of A-bolts or Tikka T3's either!!

Im not commenting on function this is just from "look" point of view

My Hate list:

Savage 99's
Centerfire Pump Action Rifles
Benneli R-1 or whatever you call em.
Any lever gun wearing a scope.....

My worst ever was my first ever. A Midland 30-06. Made by Parker Hale but such poor quality that PH wouldn't put their own name on it and hence the Midland name was born....

Chamber was slightly oval and misaligned with the bore. Misfired almost 50% right out of the box because of a weak firing pin spring. Best group I shot was 4 inches at 100 yds, and 6-8" was more the norm. Trigger, bedding, crown, and safety were all less than good from new and i spent way to much $$$ on gunsmiths trying to make it shoot.

I found this post quite interesting :) I also have a Midland .30-06 that I bought new (22yrs ago) when my old Sussex .303 suddenly starting throwing bullets all over the place just prior to the moose opener around here. That old Midland (retired) has since earned the nickname "old-meat-in-the-pot" by putting many moose & deer in the freezer over the last two decades. Federal factory 165gr BT's will stay inside 1.25" for three shots and the el cheapo Federal Classic 150gr's will put 5 shots in a single ragged hole! My only beef with the old girl is the horrible stock design which made my .338Mag feel like a pussycat in comparison  A few years ago I painted the stock and it's more butt-ugly than ever! Since it fed our family (& others!) for so long and put down my best bucks & bulls, it'll never be sold...

I cant say I really hate any guns in particular, but I'm definitely not a fan of Ruger rifles....especially the Ruger 96 or whatever lever action. God that's a terrible looking gun.

edit: I should also mention that I hate the .308 win cartridge. Not based on performance numbers, but strictly because every computer gaming nerd who has a PAL buys a .308 and slaps a scope on the rifle and tells everyone he has a tactical sniper rifle.

That stock is Epic, what paint did you use? :D

Pretty darn knarly, eh? ;) Was caught up in a moment of weakness when normally self-respecting CGN'rs were ewwing & awwing over Gatehouse's Stevens 200 stock painting thread a few years ago...lol. It's just that Krylon textured stuff with grey primer under & a clear coat over top

I don't "hate" them, but I would never own a Browning bolt action rifle(FNs excluded!).I have sold lots of them over the years when I was in the business, and lots of them were very accurate, but they just never appealed to me,the newer ones even more so.I've been happy with my 700s and Model 70s.I guess there's nothing wrong with them, but then there's nothing wrong with the .270Win either and I've never owned or wanted to own one of them. Each to his own! Mur

Savage=Junk

Working the action on a "salvage" reminds me of putting the lid on a steel garbage can...Good choice for people on welfare.
I'd rather eat worms, but if I was on skid row and it was the only rifle I could afford I might do it.
Hard to say.....
You guys on Gunnutz love this thing, but to me a good rifle must be more than just accurate.

A-Bolt = Fail!
The A bolt is a good rifle for a guy that should be on welfare, but is somehow clinging to his job.
The A-Bolt should have been sold with an Eco fee....So you don't have to pay to dump them.

Most 45/70 guide gun owners......
If I have to listen to the "long range prowess" and "stopping power" of the 45/70 one more time.!!!!...Never mind.

I'd rather eat worms.

Hey X-fan, miss your prozac today or what

I've never "hated" any firearm, however there's a pile of them I'd never look twice at for any price.

Squires and Bingham M-16 22's ???

Man just gimme a handful of rocks instead.:)
