Which muzzle loader?

dunno I'm new to muzzleloading this is my first one so I'm the student here.....lol...what am I after? longest shot will be 200yds more in the 150yd range. I'm going to start out with 100gr's and if its putting up small enough groups at 100yds I will leave it alone.

What are good groups with a muzzle loader? 2'' 3''?

A consistant 2" group @ 100 is all you will ever need. You can spend a lot of $$ and time at the range looking for the sub MOA. If you find the magic load, all the power to you..but don't get to hung up on it.

Ok back from the range with the CVA Optima package.....I'm fairly impressed and what a learning curve...if you dont load the muzzleloader the exact same every time the POI changes drasticly....

I figured out the sweet spot for loading it basically you seat the powder pellets and start your bullet when the bullet hits the powder make sure its snug then give it a little more force to get a little crunch. The crunch is from the skirt of the powerbelt seating against the powder.

After sighting in which took 9 shots 4@50yds and 5@100yds......I shot two 3 shot groups the first was just under 3'' I made a minor adjustment to the scope and the last 3 shot group was 1.75'' with two bullets going through 1 ragged hole.....My cam is at my shop so no pic of the target but man I'm happy with the way this thing shoots.

Load details
Powder: Shockeys gold 2 pellets 100gr
Bullet: Powerbelt platnium 270gr
Primer: Remington clean bore
Cleaning between shots: Brush/wet patch/dry patch

Consistency is the key....Try to seat your bullet with the same amount of force, every time. Just make sure you aren't crushing the pellets.:)
Oh...and 1.75" is pretty good...all you need for Ont.

I have had a Knight Wolverine LK II for several years now that I upgraded to the 209 ignition. I use 2 x 50 grain triple 7 pellets and Precision Rifle Dead Center 200gr ballistic tip bullets (.40 cal bullet with .50 cal sabot) . I really like the setup and it shoots well.

ya not crushing the pellets but if you have seen the skirt on the powerbelt basically what happens is the skirt hits the powder and stops the bullet now the bullet isnt seated against the powder there is about 1/2'' space between the bottom of the bullet and the powder charge because the skirt hits the powder so by giving a little force you get the powder up inside the skirt and right against the bottom of the bullet........hope that makes sence..

Ya I'm happy with 1.75'' hell even if all the bullets went through the same hole it would still be nearly 1'' so to fit another two bullets in .75'' is pretty good in my books.

OK, 120grs loose chronied was about 2200fps

That is really cooking......I've never got that with T7 and a 250 grain bullet. Sounds like you have it working for you. 126 grains of loose T7 is pretty well equal to the weight/volume of three T7 pellets. They aren't really 50 grains volume. but closer to 42 grains.
