I already own one NF scope (a 15-55 competition) and it made me a fan boy for life.
Right now I can't decide between one of these 3 to put on a WK180, so I wonder, what would other Nighforce Fan boys get ?

$3,700 + tax
ATACR 4-16x42 F1
She is the most pricey, but ATACR line has been the "go-to" model for black guns.
I really the FFP reticle MIL-R option.
A minimum of 4 zoom is the most I would want to go.

$2,600 + tax
NX8 2.5-20x50 F1
Highly versatile magnification range... 2.5 to 20 ! (that is incredible really).
Its FFP but the MIL-R reticle is not available... only the MIL-C is an option here

$2,100 + tax
NXS 2.5-10x42 COMPACT
Its SFP, and the most budget friendly.

The 2.5-10 gives you enough magnification to well outdo the average capabilities of that rifle.

No option for "none of the above". I guess the first thing I would ask, as I have no experience with the WK180, is how accurate is the rifle? Putting a plus $2K optic on a 2 MOA rifle will not turn it into a 1/2 MOA rifle. But it will allow you to see your shotgun pattern size groups a lot easier at 100 yards.

^ I’m with this guy..... lol all the power too you but a Top end NF scope on a WK is massive overkill!!! But hey if you have money to burn I’d go with the 1-8x ATACR with that glass the scope will outperform anything that rifle can do and also give you the true 1x red dot ability as well.

I'd use a scope you already have to determine what the actual accuracy of the rifle is first then figure out what scope to put on it. I honestly wouldn't expect a WK-180 to be more accurate than a rack grade AR (2-3 moa) so I'd be looking at a 1-4 or maybe a 1-8 optic.

If anyone can give the MOA for one of the RWA WK uppers, that might give an idea of the best accuracy possible with the platform. They used premium IBI barrels for those uppers.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Seems the NSX 2.5-10 is the clear favourite at this point.

I'm kind a bit surprised that nobody suggested to go an spend the extra $500 and look the NX8 2.5-20.

Maybe the extra zoom, first-focal plane, and extra 10 MOA elevation is not worth the extra $500 over and above the NSX ?

That's a bit too much glass for the rifle in my opinion. While I applaud you on being very serious about the optic (many people put a $300.00 optic on a $4,000.00 rifle and think they done good) you should be looking more into the realm of 1-6 or 1-8 LPVOs (Low Powered Variable Optics) in the $800.00-1200.00 range for civvie street work.

So I'd recommend looking at companies like Vortex, Steiner, Athlon, Trijicon & so on in the described price range of $800.00-1,200.00. You'll want to focus on glass that has the magnification range from 1-4X, 1-6X, 1-8X and 1-10X. Just remember, the greater the range of magnification, the tighter the eye box gets as you climb the "X"s.

As an aside, check out the EE here on CGN as well as scoping out (see what I did there) any potential purchases through the site sponsors.

I voted 4-16 ATACR
At least then when you realized you might as well use a red dot on that rifle because it’ll never shoot more than a few inches at 100 yards, you’d at least have a nice scope out of the deal.

I should have clarified in my OP, I have not really shot the gun yet.
At the moment, I would prefer to buy a quality optic (like I said I'm a NF fanboy for life).
And if it turns that the gun can not group (say 1 MAO or less), then the gun can go on EE and I shop for a more suitable NR black rifle to put the optic on.

And I yes I saw what ya did there (clever word play).... I am all about supporting site sponsors whenever possible.

Just my opinion but I would not waste a Nightforce optic on a WK180-C.

But if you must this is all that's needed:

The WK is nothing more than a cheap bullet hose so the 1-4 is more than enough for anything the WK is capable of.

Once again, just my opinion.

LMFAO ..."bullet hose"...That is probably the funniest expression I've ever read on this site.
Going to steal that one and keep it as my own.

If it turns out to be greater than 1 MOA, then it's going on the Equipment exchange.

Odds are it's going up on the EE pretty quick then! The WK-180C has it's ancestry in the AR-18 and as such, between the ammo and the barrel, you'll probably find you get between 1.5-3MOA with that rifle. Even with my CC-15.7 I was lucky to get sub MOA with the right ammo (determined by ringing a 2 inch plate at 200m with 40 rounds in a row from rest & prone with an ACOG).

Lead hose is used most often when speaking about machineguns.
