Which NR Rifle and why?

XCR-L all the way... :D

I am more than happy with the accuracy from both my 223 upper have a Leupold Vari X 11 4-12X40mm LR scope mounted and 6.8SPC upper with a Leupold VX111 4.5-14X40 LR B&C reticle mounted for hunting bonus is I get to hunt deer/black bears with my 6.8SPC.

I switch scopes to a Burris 1X on the 223 and a Leupold VX3 Prismatic 1X lighted circle dot scope on the 6.8 when not hunting.
 
Its always entertaining when the sole criteria up for discussion with these types of rifles is accuracy. 1.5 - 2MOA is more than good enough as a standard and they will all do that with garbo ammo.
That's a 10" group at 500m. The question is can YOU hold 2MOA? We all know the rifles in question can. Give a good shooter any one of these rifles and he will produce hits.

Imho far more important questions when grading service rifles are:

- Durability: How tough is this thing? Is it gonna rattle apart or run until the end of time?
- Reliability: Does it run or is it a Jam-o-matic?
- Ergonomics: Can you operate it quickly and efficiently?
- Serviceability: Easy to maintain? Simple to field strip? Clean?
- Construction and design: Is it soldier proof? How solid is it?

If your sole intent is tiny groupings from a bench, you're looking at the wrong type of firearm.

Well said! Looks like Tavor and Swiss Arms fit very well here.

If you werent satisfied with .45 ACP, then why a 9mm??
 
Hopefully we will be able to see some RFB and Tavor arriving at the dealers, those 2 are on my list... JP.
 
Comparing them side by side my SA Black and my XCR-M they look of equal quality, well made, and everything is tight and snug fit, i am sorry i waited so long to get a Robinson arm... JP.

No, it has not!

Robinson Arms is way to small a company. They cannot afford the destructive testing the Swiss or H&K for example can. The XCR is a fine rifle, I think it's more than tough enough. But to say it has "Passed", or even been through, all the rigorous testing the Swiss has is overstepping b a wide margin.

There is videos on youtube of it going through all of that except being frozen, which is pointless. It was put in water, sand, and mud and passed them all, and for 99.9% of us we will never be dragging our guns through mud, pooring sand in the action, freezing it at -50C etc. So the videos i seen of it performing those are proof enough for me as to the quality of it.

And that should be enough for you :) XCR's are fine rifles, I have said this. But to say Robinson Arms test's their product to the same degree that SAN test their rifles is incorrect, really, it's unfortunate for Robinson Arms, I feel if they got a Military Contract then the XCR would prove a lot of people wrong and then they'd get the revenue needed to grow their company to a more competitive point. Until then, their just a tiny American Firearms company, they can't compete with H&K, or SAN, or Colt, or other big dollar manufacturers.
 
The Swiss has over 50 years of testing and development behind it. It is by far one the finest 5.56 rifles ever devised. I have a Swiss Black Special Target and an XCR-M. I would take the Swiss to war, the XCR, not so much.
Don't get me wrong, the XCR is a great rifle and I love mine, but the Swiss is far superior in build quality and durabilty.
 
I would pick up the M instead of the Swiss ( i have the same, the black special target ) only for the 308 fire power, out of 223 it is the obvious choice... JP.

Let's be fair, there is a 7.62x51mm SAN rifle too

What if your choice was the XCR-M or the SAPR? Or if you want to keep things realistic, a Famae 542.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the FAMAE 542 compares to the Swiss Arms, although given the SAF quality, I wouldn't be surprised if it's quite good.

Me too, I can't wait to get one!!! I would prefer the SAPR but oh well. That'll hopefully come some day!

For .223 the SL8, Swiss Arms and Tavor are all about the same to me. I own the SL8 and Epoxy7 owns the other 2 so I have plenty of experience all 3.

For .308 I had the RFB but went to Valmet hunters as I'd much rather have a Galil or M76. I have no interest in the XCR's.
 
When i finish my load development spree for the M, i will see if i have interest or not, remember only accurate rifles are interresting, dont need a paddle... JP.

Been thinking of geting rid of my restricted rifles. Will it be worth switching or trading the Noveske 14.5" w/ SwitchBlock for one of these Swiss Arms Black Special??
