My lovely wife is going to buy me either a Swiss Arms Black Special or a Tavor for my birthday.

I will only buy a non-restricted and have narrowed down the choice to these two rifles.

The uses will be target shooting at the range, plinking in the field for fun, gophers whenever I get a chance and generally pissing off Lieberals wherever and whenever possible.

I am leaning towards the Tavor because of the legal bullpup design (I like short rifles and shotguns), the included in the price optics and rails as well as the ability to use cheaper AR magazines (10 rounders available!).

Help me out with your opinions and thoughts guys but only on these two rifles please.

Personally I'd get the Swiss Arms.
They have been in the country for a while and the owners are not having any problems
I always like others to be my R&D test bed for new firearms ;)
The easy ability to scope it - and the known accuracy.

The Swiss Arms "Classic Green" is nice too! Same rifle as the "Black Special" and just as sweet! I voted for the SA of course!:)

The Tavor would be easier to sling over your back while your cruising down the road on your motor cycle! :D No one would have any idea WTF it was anyway! For those who want the attention, go with the Black Special. :p

I think my LAR-15 .223 10rnd pistol mags might fit in the Tavor as well!

IMO, if you don't have the restricted class PAL, a Tavor would be a "must have"! Ahhhh, you know, find out how long you'll have to wait for the Tavor. The Black Special would provide more imediate gratification depending on the wait for the Tavor.

You nailed all the reasons to get the Tavor.

The only thing that the SIG has going for it is a much better finish and possibly better support (i.e. since Tavor is so new, hard to say how hard it will be to get a new firing pin for example should you need one in the future). :)

Definitely both... eventually. But the Tavor first :D
 X2

And if you don't like it I will force myself to accept the obviously inferior firearm into my humblke collection and will even pay for the shipping :D

X3!

Eventually I would like to have both. A friend of mine has the Black Special and I really like it. But the unique look to the Tavor and the fact it uses the AR-15 mags I already have as well as the 10 rounders that are on their way, is why I have placed my order for the Tavor first.

I'll try a Tavor,i had a Black special...............not sure what all the fuss is about these, not much more accurate than a 20" AR
and certainly not worth $1500 more than an AR.But it was was non restricted, its got that going for it.

Now I'm ducking for cover.!!

The Tavor has been proven by one of the best fighting forces in the world. Nothing against the SA but the Swiss have been war free for a hundred years. I ordered a Tavor but the SA will come shortly after(Unless the XCR proves itself in the cold).

I don't own either, but if I were to decide which to buy today, I'd probably pick up the Tavor first, SIG second. I think it's more likely that the Tavor will get the OIC stamp if the Liberals ever get back in. (and yes, I know that's a lousy outlook, but reality bites)
