Most pistols will allow you to switch the mag release over to the other side. Then you can use your right hand trigger finger to release the mag.
Roll the gun - no big deal, you get used to it and it won't noticeably slow you down if you have all of the other stuff in a reload down pat.

As someone who's thumb was accidentally amputated and later reattached, albeit significantly shorter and without the knuckle, let me just say this..... You will find a way.
Another vote for the HK-style paddle mag release. I wish all my pistols had it. The Gen 4 Glock has a fairly easy-to-reach release, too. I must say, though, that having the adjust the pistol a little to reach the "normal" type of release has never really struck me as that much of a hindrance.

Yup, as a lefty I couldn't get used to the ambi mag release on my FNS, so I just use my trigger finger, like you I find it works for me and is fasterFor the obvious win.
Buy a gun with a reversible mag release and use your trigger finger to hit the mag release. I usually switch all my guns over to the right side. I find it faster than using the mag release on the left side and being right handed. Why limit yourself to guns that might not normally be your first choice. Not only is it faster but there is no need to shift the gun in your hand when doing a reload.
