Which red dot do you use on slug shotgun? TRS-25 failed twice on me today

Another vote for the vortex venom. Light, sits low, very little obstruction to your field of vision. I ran mine for action shotgun shooting - it's seen hundreds of slugs and thousands of target shells.

Vomz Pilad. I bought it second hand, around 100 rounds of 00 buck and slugs - still fine. And it does not need batteries.

Neat. Like a new production Nydar Reflex Sight

I broke 2 Vipers and a Venom. TRS25. All on my CZ shadow2 and with reloads 124gr 9mm and only 3.5grs of tightgroup.
My Glock 23 40cal with Trijicon RMR is the most rugged and takes a beating. I dropped the slide while cleaning and landed on the sight. Had a scratch but still held zero. They are expensive but buy once cry once.

First of all the TRS-25 is as cheap as you can go while still having a functional dot. Not military grade by any means.
Then to make it worse a lot of them are fakes.

Some shotgun barrels aren’t very tight on the receiver, I can see the extra recoil disturbance from that being extra hard on an optic on a cantilever.

I ran a Burris ff2 on a 930 jmpro for years for playing around at the range and slug hunting, literally wore out the gun and the dot never lost zero then I used it for a while on a shadow and now it's lived on my kids .22 for 2 years now I'd say it's stood the test of time. I also have 4 ff3's on a 9mm pcc, 44 mag lever gun 9x21 pistol and a .22 pistol all without any issues.

I have to say I am more impressed with the Burris Fast Fire series than thier optics. Burris can be the North American equal to Aimpoint if they play thier cards right. They right now are a better red dot than the Leupold gigantic thing.

My two bits.

Does anyone know which picatinny-mounted reflex/reddot has the lowest centerline height-above-rail? Actual measurement in inch/mm? I'm trying to find one around the 1/2"/13mm mark for mounting on my M4, which might be unrealistically low. (I might end up just putting on a Salarworks RMR mount, then a riser plate to raise the dot up so I get a lower 1/5th cowitness or so)

Just attached a fast fire 3 I had for while to my 12 gauge. Tried trap for first time, and couple range session. So far so good, will also tru out in my next match. I mounted it as far up front as possible and like how low it sits. I much prefer window type red dots as opposed to tube.
