Which rifle with iron sights do you refuse to scope?

Any WINCHESTER lever. Pre 64 st least, just can't do it. The balance and portablity of the Winchester levers is ruined by scopes. Plus for the ranges they were designed for a scope is not necessary. Ease of carry is the thing with these rifles and you do a lot more carrying than shooting.

Marlin trapper 45-70 with 16” barrel and skinner peep sights.. absolutely no reason to fowl that beauty up with glass, point and shoot!! And again!

Win 94 takedown (Miroku);
Chiappa Alaskan Scout 12in; and
This monstrosity (Verney-caron pump in 9.3x62). Battue sights are great.

I use a reasonably lightweight Minox 1.25-8x32 scope in QD rings on the cz527. No regrets.

My Philosophy differs...what's the use in carrying something that I cant hit the patch of hide I want too. Even my 1894 manuf. (4 number ser #) 38-55 has a "scope" on it, albeit a Red Dot it is still a scope.

Any body with a couple drill bits and 8" of 1 inch alum angle can build a mount in couple hrs and you can buy Pickatinny rail by the foot that is center drilled and spaced to easily mount a 2" piece in the angle....ohhh and you dont have to D/T anything on the gun t, those old girls are already drilled in the tangs.

And yes I do scope my carbine as well, not many carbines will shoot into a 3/4" group but I can with mine.

I’m an iron sights guy. If I can avoid a scope, I do, these ones are safe from getting scopes long as I own them, Mauser on the end is on deposit and new owner plans the same.

There's an eternal special place reserved for the person who drills that Mauser.

I scope everything now.

Bought a very nice Remington 141 in 35Remington last year with the thought of using it with a tang sight, but my eyes are not cooperating with the open sights any more. I bought a 760 in 35Rem instead that I can scope and will sell the 141.

It would be easier for me to say the rifles I wouldn't mind putting a scope on it and that only one is my Tikka T3X Battle. I've been hunting with it for two fall seasons and the second spring season with the rifle is coming up and I've only used the iron sights. But I'm tempted to mount a Leupold VX-Freedom 1-4x20. I use to hunt all the time with my CZ 550 LUX, with its 24" barrel, and it never bothered me until I took that 20" barrel Tikka out. The Battues sights though are a thing of beauty so I'm reluctant to finally put a scope on it.

I put a scope on everything eventually. Just for different playing around I guess.

I will never scope my 410 single shot lol.

I do like to play with irons.
My -CZ 452 lux probably got with irons the most.
