Chamber length doesn't matter as much as action type. Most modern gas-operated shotguns will operate with light loads. Recoil operated guns more often require more powerful shells to operate as reliably. My Beretta 391 with a 3" chambers will function with very light loads that would not work in a 2-3/4" chambered Browning Auto 5.Stick with 2.75" chambers. The longer chambered guns don't function near as well with the lighter loads.
