Which Shotgun for squirrel or chipmunk hunting?

To best kill a squirrel, you deploy a rifle and shoot the tree right beside where the squirrel is perched. That way, the shock of the impact is transmitted through the wood and kills or at least stuns the critter without affecting the food value because it falls undamaged onto the ground. Try that with a shotgun.
 
Obviously if you are considering a shotgun you are not interested in the pelt. To me, Unless you are eating it, or it is eating you, I see no reason to kill any of them. Live trap and release to an enemies property
 
You're 10/22 can also be modified for squirrel hunting

I’ve seen them, they don’t do much for me to be honest. Anything I need to shoot on the farm pest wise, a .22lr is more than adequate for and I’m not worried about anything leaving the property.

I don't know that it's a lie. Just guessing. The tone. The weak grammar. The complete lack of knowledge, and apparent inability to use search engines to resolve such a basic question. All seems to point to the original poster as being guilty of some sort of misleading conduct, in aid of harvesting information which may be useful in support of anti-firearm propaganda.

Hows about nesting in my attic and dumping insulation beside the shop? Obnoxious critters with the whole forest to flourish in. Instead they want to vandalize my hard earned dwelling.
