Which shotgun? Remington 870 vs Mossburg 500?

I've shot both a lot and prefer the 500. I think I'm in the minority when I find that the 500 has less felt recoil. the safety and slide release both seem to be in a more ergonomic location on the 500 as well. All is all you can't go wrong with either gun.

Has anyone had trouble with the mossburg 500 shooting cheap shells?

Mine is flawless with anything.

Does anyone know if you can get the mossburg 500 field model in a black stock?
I have been looking online and on the Mossburg site but I can't find one.

I've seen them before so they gotta be out there! The 870 also has one as well

I gotta agree that that is "odd" lol...normally the heavier gun (the 870) would have less felt recoil

The Mossberg probably fits you better.

i remember reading it, but i cant remember the answer:

Can i put a heatshield on a Mossberg 590A1? I thought i read that it wasn't possible by virtue of design, but again, i just thought i would ask.
