A little background first. My shotgun shooting experience has been buying one then going out and just figuring it out. I have owned a lemon Mossberg, an 870 and currently a SXP.
I have been debating selling the SXP in favor of a break action because I am over polymer and prefer wood, a pump is not required for my needs and cheaper/equal value break actions can be had.
I use a shotgun for two main things. The first being informal trap shooting, IE. hand thrower on crown land. The second being generic screwing around. I also have an interested in getting into small game hunting but have not taken steps towards that yet.
What would the gun nutz recommend doing and/or buying that is equal or cheaper value than the SXP? I like the cheaper option so I can spend more on ammo
Should I go with SXS, single or O/U? Should I just keep the SXP?
Will I have a problem with fixed choke shotguns? I have only used full in the SXP any way. I am not to concerned with gun fit because I don't do any serious shooting. Any advice or opinions is welcome.
