I have a new unfired SKS-D that has been sitting in the back of my safe since probably the mid 90's. I am guessing it was made by Norinco but it doesn't say Norinco anywhere on the rifle.
This is what I know:
-the receiver is milled
-the barrel is threaded on
-blade bayonet
-takes AK mags
-all matching serial numbers (389xx)
-the only other marks on the receiver other than the serial # is "SKS 7.62X39MM MADE IN CHINA BY XZ"
Anyone know if it is in fact a Norinco model and when it may have been produced? The serial number seems a bit low compared to some other SKS's I have seen.
Any info you may have on this would be appreciated. I haven't had much luck in my searches.
Thanks
