White blemishes on 'brand new' Colt Canada MRR 16

This is exactly what it was. I took it to my local gun store and they said the same thing.

I contacted FOC and they said I can return it (hallalujah). They're sending me a label for it.

Glad they finally saw the light. Last time I tried to buy something from them the online system gave me some grief. I tried to make the purchase over the phone, the guy who answered refused...I'm not kidding. It's pretty simple though, unsubscribe from their mailing list, delete bookmark, thanks for your time, although the options are not endless in the GTA, there are a few in the area.

Same ! I had to order this rifle over the phone. For what it's worth, and there is a comment describing this for another buyers perspective as well, the second guy (Alfred) was great to deal with and was totally sympathetic to me. The first dude was quite abrasive , pardon the pun ;)

I wouldn't give a crap about that, but then I also wouldn't waste money on a Colt Canada when I can get two or three Sport 2s for the same cash.

To myself that is a non issue but I understand why some would be upset. I like my firearms to be pristine when I buy them new but I also understand that most Colt/Colt Canada rifles are never perfect when they're completed. It almost looks like it was a demo gun of some sort or the like but I could be mistaken. If you are unhappy with a purchase that costs that much you are within your rights to ask for an exchange IMO.

My MRR is not marked 5.56. Is was manufactured in 04/2019. Came in a sealed box with a CC sticker on the end, serial on the sticker and rifle match.

OP has a valid reason to be upset, The rifle should be in mint condition. If he were to deal that rifle on EE, he would take a hit on its appearance. I personally like my stuff to look nice.

This thread delivers !!

Honestly OP doesn’t seem that bad. But I mean I understand where your coming from.

However, while doing mag changes and dry firing at home. I scratched the #### out of my recon 1 lock bar with my rifle while it was in a pistol mag holder. I’m not going to complain and call cold steel. Just adds character.

I need to krylon my rifle and go run it !

This thread was something special. Every time I see the anguish caused from an "imperfection" on someone's AR I want to drop mine on the ground again to help restore balance to the universe.

I am glad to hear OP was able to come to a positive resolution though.

I don’t know. I’m normally part of the shoot the crap out of it crowd but this looks like the finish could be flawed. Is/was there still anodizing under the white when you cleaned it or was the receiver raw underneath? The marks are very small so it’s hard to say from the photos.

I have seen something similar caused by water damage. Little white specks that when I went to clean it basically came off and left raw aluminum underneath. If it came from the factory that way I’d be worried about the longevity of the finish as it seems to have been poorly applied in this case. Despite what some may think that anodizing is what protects it. How many on hear complained non stop about BCL not anodizing their lowers?

I’d also be super pissed that the mag is missing. I mean, they left the bag in there for crying out loud. That right there is enough of a reason for me to return it and tell them to #### right off.

Normally, I'd say suck it up and enjoy your new rifle. I'm still not overly bothered by the blemishes but the condition of the box and empty magazine bag make me think you were sold a used rifle, or at the very least one that was returned.
