If the winter we are having so far holds up it will be good for deer. With five or six good winters the numbers will rebound quite a bit. In optimum conditions deer populations can increase 30 percent a year. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

You have to wonder who is advising our current government on our big game seasons in Sask.Although I have seen adequate deer numbers in our area the whole province is complaining about the lack of deer.So they shorten the season up for a week for resident hunting yet still allow non residents to hunt,Im not sure shortening the season to two weeks will help much but non resident hunting should be the first thing to go until the numbers have recovered.
