Who bought a S&W SD9 VE, 4.25", $350 compact 9mm pistol?

Cheaper than dirt has the Apex kit for less than$17. and the mags for less than $31,, but i don't think they ship to Canada, man I need a U.S. p.o. box! The kit and a couple Mags could be shipped by usps for around $10!

A US p.o. box??? so you could illegally take them out of the USA? ITAR controlled and NOT a good idea to try.

Trigger kit is ITAR controlled item and you must be a licensed exporter to bring the trigger kit across the border by yourself.

I got it on a impulse buy , I should have asked to see if they had extra mags - but they gave it to me for a CRAZY price so I just clicked buy as fast as I could without considering additional mags. This SD9 sitting beside it's big brother the 500 - makes it look like a little derringer :)
Wouldn't mind finding the cheap Apex trigger thou

Nice, I do like the look of it for sure, working on finding a company in the U.S. who will ship Apex kits to Canada. Amazon is crazy asking over $60 for it when they sell for $20 in the States!

$20 Apex spring kit (just the spring kit is $20.64 on Amazon.com).

Polymer SD Action Enhancement Trigger
Sale price: $29.95
(SD Poly AET)
What it does:

The Apex Polymer Action Enhancement Trigger Kit directly replaces the factory hinged trigger with a solid body polymer trigger with a center mounted pivoting safety. The rounded face of the trigger provides a smooth comfortable surface for the shooter’s finger while firing. The trigger also reduces pre-travel by approximately 20% and over travel by 10% when compared to the factory trigger and is perfect for use in SD and Sigma pistols already equipped with an Apex SD or Sigma Spring Kits, but works as a standalone component as well.

Products included: 2 Pcs

Apex Polymer SD Action Enhancement Trigger
Apex SD Slave Pin

SD Spring Kit Install Video (SD Trigger installation starts at 5:13)
Expected results:

Smooth face trigger with a solid body to produce a more comfortable trigger face for the shooter’s finger.
Reduced trigger pre-travel by 20%
Reduced trigger over travel by 10%
Reduced trigger pull weight by 10-15%

Applicable to what guns:

Smith & Wesson SD, SD-VE & Sigma Series Semi Auto Pistols - 9, 40 and .357 Sig models included. SD9, SD40, SD9VE & SD40VE.

What trigger did they put in there? A Chinese one that cost them 50c probably. With all these flooding the market, maybe contact Irunguns and get them to import a bunch of the trigger kits and mags in a 'group buy'.

will they do a group buy, cause I am in if they will. might as well get mags too, I would say he could easily bring in 200 sets and sell them in a week!

If I buy this pistol (still debating), I'm going to ask IRG to bring in the kits and mags, if I can get others to get on board. I haven't tried the trigger yet, so I can't confirm. It appears that the entire kit is around $50, while the springs only are around $20, mags are around $40 (all prices in US funds).

Apex emailed back, they do not ship out of the U.S. but said to try Brownells and Midway, i have seen them at cheaper than dirt too! I am in for a kit and 2 mags if IRG can get them in at U.S. prices!

I am down for a spring kit to reduce trigger weight to 5.5 lb. Its a great gun for the price. I am really impressed. I broke it down and its good quality through and through.

Are these new? that's a pretty good price if they are. Pic on page 1 looks pretty good actually!

From what another said, these have been out for a while in the US w/4" barrels and now with the sales slowdown there, they are coming here with CDN legal 4.25" barrels. Only negatives I've heard of is the trigger. Going to the shop tomorrow and will see if they let me dry fire the pistol as I want to see how bad the trigger is. From what is posted in this thread, it's bad.

The trigger is a drag. No question. If you have strong hands it's not as big a deal but if you have smaller hands like me it shakes by the time the trigger is near the break on a slow pull. As you are pulling it you wonder if the thing is ever going to end. For the 350 bucks I would be happy to just have the thing as a paper weight if necessary.

If I buy one, I definitely want more mags and the full trigger kit. Nothing sucks more than having a pistol that you can't shoot well due to the poor trigger. This is one of the reasons why I was leaning towards the Ruger 9E, as it has a 5 lb trigger according to a review of it, but is more expensive and only comes with 1 mag for $361 US.

Ok, didn't know, I have bought spring kits from Wolfe etc. and had them shipped no problem. I thought it was just this company that would not ship, Amazon .ca has them but screws you for $61. Whereas their Amazon .com has them for $21!! They were talking about the price differences on BNN today and how the govn't. Is supposed to crack down ,ha we will see, maybe they should start with Amazon!

Some companies will ship to Canada, others won't. Depends if they has the proper licenses or are willing to go through the hassle of the paperwork. I bought a few parts and accessories for my JR Carbine that JR is shipping to me.

These part kits are not easy to get unless they are at a Canadian store or Brownell's (which will ship most items to Canada).
