Nobody bought the Marlin XL7Camo ones for $279.99?
I might pick one up in 7mm-08, I heard they were a lot better than the savage, no scope of course.
Nice man. Another noobish Axis question- is there aftermarket stocks available for these yet?
I couldn't buy a rifle like that, a rifle has to have character, you have to be proud to own it, it should have nice wood and steel, no plastic...that's just me.

No nothing yet. I heard it has to do with the way the magazine is and the recoil lug.
If you dropped a 250 dollar axis on the ground the only reason I would pick it up would be to put it on the ee for 350.. (You pay shipping)... It looks like something my kid would make in a play-doh mould...
The 111 is a much better deal and worth the extra coin...

Bought a .223 in stainless. Blued were sold out.
Took off the junk 3-9 Bushnell and put on an equally junk 6-18 Bushnell that was in the safe.
Was thinking it would be kinda of cool to fab an adapter up that would allow the use of AR type mags in this rifle. Thing is that this rifle was cheap enough that I might just do that to see if it can be done.
Maybe you got a lemon, but the "junk" package scope is actually not terrible...and seems to be holding up quite nicely to the .223. No issues so far and the optics remain clear. However I haven't hunted with this rifle yet so I don't know how it looks in low-light conditions. On the shooting range in the middle of the day however....

3 shots w/ factory ammo (Hornady Superformance 53gr poly-tips) @ 100 yards with the bushnell package scope and factory trigger. The only thing non-standard on the gun are the Leupold bases and rings.
