I've been reading a lot of threads about people that bought an Axis from WSS in their boxing day sales (a lot in .223).
So what did you buy?
I bought the $249 in .223

I have just learned that they are coming out with left hand Axis rifles in 2012. My local candy store is taking orders for his spring shipment now at $289.77. Yet again something to ponder about. You may see my 223 Edge in the EE and I'll order a 223 and a 308 left hand. Very tempting.

I was very tempted to pick up a 7mm-08 for that price, but I am quite fond of wood stocks and after handling other synthetic rifles I thought I would pass as I knew I wouldn't be happy with the feel.
Great price for an entry level rifle/scope combo.:)

I couldn't buy a rifle like that, a rifle has to have character, you have to be proud to own it, it should have nice wood and steel, no plastic...that's just me.

I looked at one at wholesale Sports and they were more solid then I thought they'd be. I purchased a new Leupold VX-II in stead but you guys who bought em got a hell of a deal. Great beater rifle for the truck/atv

I have 2 Bought the first(223) in april and the second(30-06) in july. Both have been excellent. Alot of rounds have went down the pipe of the 223. I would get a timmey trigger for them as it makes then so much nicer to shoot.

.223 snow camo. Right out of the box - laser sighted at 50 yards. 3 rounds under 1 inch... fluke? took it out to 125 yards, 5 rounds less than 2 inches apart. For under $500 (scoped, taxes, sling) I cant complain... and neither with the yotes this winter!
Dr.Oz

They should shoot better then that at 125 yards. Should be under an inch at 100 with the right ammo.

.223 Axis XP from SFRC. Haven't had the chance to really reach out yet, but its grouping at the size of a toonie @ 25 meters. Next range day will include 100 yard results.

It should be able to group ALOT better then that at 4x the distance!!!

I find the heavy trigger really makes people pull their shots, nothing 3mins with a pair of side cutters can't fix tho!!!

Yea- I saw that video on youtube on how to do that modification. What about those Timiney Triggers? Are they worth the cash? As for my grouping, I personally think I could've done better. We'll see come January.

I have a timmey in both my axis' and think they are well worth the money. My accuracy went from 1.5-2" at 100yards down to less then an inch if i do my part. Did some shooting with some loads(.223rem) I mixed up and with 25gr varget hornady 53gr vmax the group is .775 if you dont count the one I pulled on(5 shots), if you do count the one I pulled its 1.5". The gun is a stock xp except the timmey trigger
