Who has CZ557 Ranger rifles in stock?

Honestly, buy a wood stocked 557 in a calibre of your choice with a 20" barrel and iron sights, and then add a 10-round mag kit. It will be a bit lighter and just as good.

where is the world are you guys getting a mag kit for a cz 557? Almost all floor plate 557 models are long actions with spacers in them, the kit about will not fit

I have to say I'm impressed that CZ put a pic rail on the Range Rifle that actually lets you see the iron sights through the groove! None of the CZ rails with grooves I have tried on other models (550s) would allow using the irons.

The one I got is marked 2021.

My only complaint is that rear sight is not adjustable. I guess it's meant to be a backup sight for short range only but I'd love to have a tangent leaf like on my CZ-457 Lux. Now I'm debating between 100m and 200m zero.. 200m zero should take me on target anywhere between 100m and 300m, but it's useless for close range.. 100m zero will get me to 200m range with a bit of holdover but 300m shots are kind of a coin toss because the front post will cover the target.. I like shooting steel up to 300-400m with irons so it's kinda sad that this awesome rifle has such rudimentary rear sight :(

where is it marked 2021, mine should be as well, we both got them at the same time from the same place

Finally got my NECG aperture sight, it's a really nice looking addition to the rifle. That LoS increase should be beneficial to accuracy as well.

Hot off the press a 243 CZ557 Ranger Rifle

I did mine the cheaper way, had a new 243 carbine and a spare 308 ranger rifle, had a local gun smith do the swap, time the barrels and do the head spacing, so now ive got a surplus 308 walnut carbine to sell and a true short action, 243 10 round ranger, just gonna pop the NECG sight on it and its ready

Nice, I like the way you did it. Cost effective and looks 100% OEM.

Thanks, fired it this afternoon, gonna try it tomorrow with the peep on it

Tried mine today. It's easier to aim than with OEM rear sight but it's not as accurate. But it doesn't really matter, I can hit same steel plates with both up to 200m. Zeroing it was also very easy.

I find the factory sights second to none. Fast target acquisition !

I found that it's hard to find a good cheek weld position for the factory rear sight to align, it's positioned a bit too low for me and it takes a few seconds every time. No problem with NECG since it sits a bit higher. But I'd really like have a tangent rear sight, similar to what CZ457 Trainer/Lux has. For some reason it's not available even as an aftermarket option.. So we are stuck either with non-adjustable OEM or with non-adjustable NECG. Good enough up to 200m anyways.

The factory sights on my 557 Lux are adjustable for windage (rear) and elevation (front) and with the Euro-stock, it's pretty much instantaneous target acquisition for me.
I am tempted to install my spare 557 front sight assembly on one of those sightless Rangers with the nice Euro-stocks, and add a peep site for the rear. Those stocks are ideal for iron sights. As much as some love the standard Ranger beech stocks, I much prefer the ergos of the Bavarian stocks.
