Who has CZ557 Ranger rifles in stock?

The factory sights on my 557 Lux are adjustable for windage (rear) and elevation (front) and with the Euro-stock, it's pretty much instantaneous target acquisition for me.

Yes, they are adjustable for zeroing at a fixed distance but that's where it ends. I zeroed mine at 100m, so I can easily hit 200m with a bit of holding over. CZ457 Lux on the other hand has a tangent rear sight like Mausers, Mosins, etc. so I can set it to whatever distance I want when shooting.. But my guess is that a typical CZ rear blade is good enough for hunting so they didn't bother with more complicated tangent military-style setup. I'd pay for an aftermarket if it was available.

I wonder how compatible the front sight is with a receiver mounted peep sight? Is there enough elevation adjustment to compensate for the peep sight sitting higher up than a factory rear sight? Anybody with this setup care to share your experiences?

If you are referring to NECG peep sight, then I can share mine. It is absolutely compatible. Last time I zeroed factory rear sights at 100m, so I had to adjust the front post. Today I installed NECG peep sight and I had to screw in the ghost ring all the way in and it gave me exact same point of impact at 100m. I didn't touch the front post at all but there's a lot of room for adjustment either up or down if needed.

Thanks for that. I might have another 557 in my stable! The no-sight ranger checks all my boxes. I will still need to find a competent Smith to drill and tap the barrel for two small M3x0.5x6mm screws in order that I can install a factory front sight. I would pop off the pic rail and install the NECG peep sight directly on the factory proprietary dovetail. It would become an iron sights only affair.

Basically, you'll get a Ranger with a Lux stock this way, should be a nice setup. I'm probably going to switch between pic rail and NECG from time to time, shouldn't be a problem because NECG keeps zero.

Here is my 243 Ranger with the NECG peep, gonna try it out today

May I ask where you ordered your NECG?

Just got my 527 today, nice wood stock. Factory test firing sheet has a one hole cloverleaf group printed on it, so it seems like I scored an accurate rifle. And I was planning to remove some wood behind receiver tang to avoid stock splitting but it was already done out of the box, so I'm not expecting any cracks in the stock either!

My first 527 was relieved behind the tang already as well
