Who has put full stock on ther Mares Leg let se see them

This is quite a fast shooting rifle, this will be my main rifle when i will be dogging for deer this fall, that thing swing in a jiffy and your are only loosing 60 fps over an 18 inch rifle, 270 gr at 1750 fps within 100 metres is a train... JP.

It'll be deer & beer after quick work with these rifles! I am looking forward to how easy it will be to pack. Nothing is a more natural carry than a lever-action rifle, iron sights.

I got my Win 92, pre-64 Boyds stock and while the top tang is snug against the back of it's slot, the bottom tang is about 3/16 short of the back of the slot,
the tang hole does line up;
but the front of the stock is 3/16 short of the receiver edge. Even I cant stretch wood!

Anyone else find this with a Boyds replacement for their Rossi? How are they at returns?

Or does it merely require fitting and they come this way? I am sure I can make it fit with some work, I just dont want to start the fitting if they are supposed to come closer to fitting than this.

As an update - I talked to Boyds and the fellow said that the Rossi and the pre 64 94/92 may not be the best choice. The Rossi is a bit different and they MAY make a different design someday.

Otherwise, that is the way they come. So I slowly worked my way through elongating the tang slot(s) and then eventually I needed to elongated the tang crew hole to align to the tang holes in the metal.
It appears that the elongation of the hole diameter has not proven to be an isse (but I have not fired it yet).

I also had to reduce the upper tang flat, otherwise the tang screw wpould not be long enough to connect the upper and lower tangs.

Then an overall sanding to reduce about 2-3mm of excess wood around the tangs and cheeks.

A little more fitting than I expected, but not bad overall.

I am slowly finishing it with oil and will post pics soon.

I'm having the same challenge as farshot. It works OK, but will require modification as above for a flush fit.

I can't wait, I'm taking it to the range tomorrow the way it is. Then I'll tinker with it some more later...

Opuntia Lake Sports will make you a set of stock in your choice of Laminate for 175$

Sent them an email just now... Man, they have some nice stuff. Comparable to Boyd Laminates'.

These will look nice on my new Ranch Hand... ;) (picture taken from Co.'s website - http ://ols.sasktelwebhosting.com)

Got a reply today. Can't wait to hear back from Rich again, might send him the gun to ensure proper fitment.

I love this little gun... I don't think I'll ever sell it. :)

* Does anyone just use the "Taurus Lock" on the hammer instead of traditional locks ?
