Looks heavy!
The way I have mine setup at the moment...
Whats been done:
- Archangel SKS stock
- Wartak Scope mount
- Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40mm scope
- Tapco 5/20 mag (and various others)
- Bolt has been modded to allow mag to be removed when closed
- 4lb Trigger job
- Ncstar short muzzle brake
- UTG deluxe folding bipod
What I plan on doing:
- Grind off bayonet lug
- maybe recrown muzzle
- Remove Wartak mount and replace with AK side rail
- Mount a PO 3-9x24mm Russian scope
- Build low profile shell deflector
I like this. Archangel and kwik rail wicked combo. I wish I went this route. Looks like the russian cousin

Tapco stock out of necessity , I shot this rifle so much (well over 7000rounds now) that it pounded out the inside rear of the wood stock.
Any tips on fixing that ?
Fill in the gap using Devcon? Look up how to "bed your rifle", there is a fair amount of talk about that in other parts of the forum. Itll take up the space and should be plenty tough.
Dunno if a perfect solution but I'd try it!

In fact, it inspired me to get onto building one similar to that. Not really started yet, but soon! The slightly
Shorter bbl to handle muzzle devices without making it longer... the rear peep sight better than bone stock rear leaf, no need for scopes, improved look of the bolt, nice stock, the overtravel stop. Its not wildly different... but its improved where it can make genuine improvements without sacrificing the things that SKS's excel at (overall toughness and reliability).
To me putting a Promag on may look cool but up close their feed lips look like theyd be poor performers. The Tapco mags may be reliable... but are they really all that tough? Can they survive as well as the original mag??
