Who is buying a Type81?

Look at when the M37 brownings were announced, that was when 2012? people preordered and waited and waited and waited. They finally came out this year. Hopefully these type 81 are not a 4 year wait :(

I think they meant Q3 2017.

Well Just got my refund processed today, I was surprised to see they work on Sundays :). Thats some pretty good CS if you ask me.

I needed the money for my ACR mods lol... But I dont think these will even be here this year.

Ill get one of the EE once they land.

Funny how people are quick to jump ship for these yet others are still waiting for an FRT # for the RPD (3+ years in the wait), M17S (3+ years wait), aND others are still waiting for their Aug delivery of the shadow II's (which seems to have been pushed back till possible 2017) and there is barely any crying going on there

I guess patience really is a virtue

Good points. I can't speak re those other guns, but in this case it's not a deposit, it's full price up front and a lack of updates on their planned Q3 delivery or anything else. This lack of info from TI can only lead to speculation and second guessing. Maybe it's not TI. Maybe the Chinese producers have little interest in communicating until the rifles are completed?

I purchased with an expected delivery date of 3rd Quarter. Didn't receive it in time so I cancelled.

The lack of updates made my decision easy.

Except they said end of Q3. Not Beginning of Sept.

In the end your choice and to JimDO, RPD need to be paid up in full for order aswell at a price of 3000$ +

If they havent updated us by now, They won't be here by 1st OCT.

Last email I got from TI before cancelling was they have no updates to give.

Ill buy one once they are actually here. I really really really want one of these, hence why I put my money up first day they were available for pre-orders.

But with the lack of updates ( good or bad ) I dont see why I should have my money tied up for god knows how long.

Remember when TI told us once they go to the factory they would share pics of production models ?

I do and I also know several other companies who have downed alot harder then TI's promise of 8 months of having them since when they were unveiled at the Toronto Sportsman show.

Good or bad I am I for the wait. Be it 1 more month of 6 more, still alot better then waiting for a FRT# THEN the import.of said firearm.

I to really want one, if I didn't I wouldn't have bought several with a ####load of spare mags.

Mine have already been bought, paid for and forgotten so no matter when ever they arrive, it will be a blessed day for me

Hey guys we`ve finally got some news from the factory today. Unfortunately due to the relatively small size of the Canadian civilian market the Type 81 production has been pushed back in favour of larger and more immediate military orders. The new delivery is scheduled for this winter.

We understand that this is very frustrating. We`ve tried everything we can to make delivery happen on time, the exporter even visited the factory practically begging and even offered to triple our order out of their pocket to no avail. Relatively small orders for Canadian civilians are simply lower priority than large government orders, especially for a state arms factory and not a private company.

This is quite hard on us, we know many of you are very excited about this rifle, and we hate to see our customers disappointed, even feeling cheated. We`ve always based our business on doing the right thing and making our customers happy, never leaving anyone feeling upset or unsatisfied. We feel we`ve broken the trust of many existing and new customers due to these delays.

Due to the potential for situations like this we really hate doing pre-orders, but because of the immense demand for these rifles it is the only way we can ensure that anyone that wants a T81 will be able to get one when they arrive. We figure this to be better than panic buying, 2-3 year waiting lists and NIB Type 81`s selling on the equipment exchange for $2k+.

We at Tactical Imports sincerely apologise for the delay and hope we can remain in good standing with you as a company. We will continue to do everything we can to make sure delivery happens as soon as possible. Once the shipment arrives we`ll have the orders sent out promptly, anyone that placed an order online will receive an email with their tracking information as soon as it is sent out.

So have they started production of your order? Or just haven't been able to finish producing the whole order?

Hadn`t started yet, was in queue. We believe the entire production queue was pushed back, not just our order

Latest situation...

So TI is issuing refunds, even if their policy is not to refund deposits in pre-order? Or did you get a store credit?
