Who is buying a Type81?

It was my understanding that they were only committed to bring in a specific number of rifles (1000?) I would think that if they had 1000 people on the preorder, they would stop.

Unless they have to pay up front for the production to finish. Half to secure production, half to complete it kind of thing.

If they had overy 1000 why not just get more made?

I've paid 3x the money for the same accuracy and not quite as reliable.

I want to, but I shall wait and see how the after market develops for it too. I know M14.ca/T97.ca were pretty quick to jump on the T97 so if they jump on the T81 as well i will probably grab one. Would be interesting to see if Tactical Imports moves forwards with getting other calibres too. I would love a 5.56 one.

I'm not. You are really being a guinea pig if you pre-order in full and may very well get a POS.

I'm in a waiting pattern like some of the other posters, will wait and see what happens with these. They might be way better than the VZ58's and then again - could be a pile of trash.

I've been interested in a T97 but the price, bad ergonomics and reading a lot of bad reviews has steered me away. This could be like a lot of the other Chinese firearms, you buy a project that you need to finish in order to get them functioning properly.

I hope this works out for everyone who pre-ordered in full, but I'm not willing to shell out that kind of money to roll the dice.
