Who is buying a Type81?

I've been considering pre ordering one, but I don't know if I want to commit 1k to a rifle that isn't in Canada Yet, TI said they are 100% coming and they look pretty neat... cheaper than a VZ/CZ right now but still..
Not 100% sold on it yet..

Go back a few years and see how well the Famae pre-order worked out for them.
Oh they got the rifles all right, just 8 months after another dealer brought them in, only took 2 years or so total for the pre-order folks to get theirs.
Did I mention TI claimed they were the "exclusive Famae distributor" and nobody else could possibly bring these guns in...yet somehow they did.
Oh, and not only did another dealer bring them in before TI and their 2 year pre-order, they brought them in cheaper too.
Unfortunately the TI T81 seems to be going down that same path.

Side note...T97's were retailing for $1150 when they arrived... our dollar was par with USD. Within a month one shop was selling them for $850. Today, our dollar is 35% less but the T97's are retailing for $750 and less some places. Do you think NS is losing money on these passing them onto the retailer at $500 +/-? Anybody thinking these will go UP in price once they start rolling in may just be on crack.
How much do you think these T81's actually cost in USD to purchase? $100/unit? I bet it's pretty close to that.

I see on Calibre mags IG they hash tagged "finallyhere"... do they know something we don't? big announcement soon maybe?

Hash tag "not really"

TI sample, for media reviews.

What can be observed in the picture, is the production wood and the BLUED metal associate to that wood vs the phosphate finish of the lab sample. Much nicer quality material and hopefully that bluing carries over to the production models.

Still want an LMG version.

It has been mentioned that the production model differs from the lab model in that the production model will be blued as opposed to the phosphate finish, better quality wood, and it will have the grenade launcher sleeve.

hopefully the schedule doesn't change again , i got a few crates to shoot and will be able to compare it to my cz858 , i want to see if AK stock set will fit on those

TI was sent the new production wood furniture and some 5/30 round mags from the Mfgr. both of which are seen in this pic .
