Heading out tomorrow as well! Just packing up the rest of my gear and off to bed.
Have a good hunt!

Loaded up and ready to hit the road tomorrow morning. Heading up to 6-9 on a solo hunt. Have the bull moose draw till nov 15 in a group with 1 other hunter my buddy\s son that he asked me to put in with..... and they both bailed last week. I have to shake my head sometimes and this is the third year his kid has fuggered up our hunts. He's not a kid really, he's in his mid/late 20's.
Last year i had to go solo too.....
but I'm going and it's gonna be fun LOL

Heading out in an hour to our property, four of us, my two sons and my best friend. To a property near Smoky lake, Alberta.
My son and I went on Wednesday and saw 5 moose and 37 deer on the property, could have shot small bucks and does,
but I am only taking one animal this year and it is too early in the season to take a dinker. Good luck to everyone.

Heading out early tomorrow morning to my camp up north. So looking forward to it.

Best part is that the long range forecast is for NICE COLD temperatures! None of this 15C crap like last year!

Pues si, mañana voy. :)

Not tomorrow, but Monday my son amd I are heading out to bowhunt deer... a little challenging this year as I shattered my right ankle two weeks ago... three bad breaks... the doctor wouldn't give me a walking cast, so I made one by removing the felt liner from a pack boot and slitting the leather tongue down the middle and cutting out a section out of the top so that my cast will fit it... I can get around ok in it.

Love hearing others are heading out too. Nothing this morning but we have crunchy snow right now so it felt like a wash before I even sat down. I did hear one mucking around but it didn't show.

Wife is away so I'll be with the monkeys tonight. That said, I still plan on cruising out for a quick walk round at sunset. Good luck to all out there!

that's hard core dude..... good luck ;)
Just ready to roll off the highway and head into camp after 7hrs on the road. Looking like a foot of snow or more ahead..... praying the late rut is still going I want this solo hunt over as soon as possible , the weather only gets worse from here LOL

We are still pre-rut here... the best action is normally between Nov. 5th and Nov. 10th... just before the does go into estrous. Weather is clear and cold for the week, but the predicted high winds may kill our chances.

but i did see some fresh bull n cow tracks on the way in.
deer rut when i get back home ;)

We had a great day, one moose on the property, however the deer sightings were just crazy (43), my friend who is a meat hunter took
a small buck. My sons and I held out, one left early because his boots were failing him at -24 (I'm buying him a surprise pair, best I can
find this week). My other son and I chose to go home empty handed, the biggest buck we saw was in the 120 range, but showed potential
for the future if he makes it through the season. We don't see the bigger ones till the last two weeks of November. However on a scale of
1 to10 the day was a 10. One of the most fun days afield we have ever had.

We went out yesterday. Filled our forth and final moose tag of the season on a nice sized calf. Farmland moose hunting has been good to us this year. Hard to call it hunting though. Closer to grocery shopping. Freezers are full though so I'm happy.
