Just wondering who is using a 28 gauge gun this 2025-26 hunting season .Also what 28 gauge gun are they using and what for?

Have been using a 28 gauge Franchi 48AL for partridge (ruffed grouse) and rabbits (snowshoe hare) this season myself.Have been able to bag three partridge, but no rabbits so far.

Hello Cat.Been awhile since I have spoken with you.I remember in the past ,when you used to hang around on the 28 gauge Society wed site.

Yes, I got locked out of it and couldn't get back in quite a while back.
One of the few regrets I have is selling my CZ Mini Bob white, my Fausti Dea and my Ugartechea - all 28's and tremendous little shotguns!

On and off with my 28 g upland A400 Beretta hunting pheasants .Depends on where I go ,pointer land use the 28g Labrador flush land SKB sxs in 20. Flushland is usually corn where its tough to see the points, lab works better there imho.

Yes, they were having some problems with the site at one time, but seem to have them corrected at present time.

Like you, there have been some 28 gauge guns I parted with in the past, that I should of kept, but one cannot keep them all.:)Like in nature, the old has to make room for the new.:)

What ammo are you using in your Beretta 28 gauge for pheasants, reddog?

Federal upland 2 3/4 sixes. I see they have Prairie storm in 3" one ounce 6, I might try a box as we are in the last week and most of the dumber birds are gone, only the Wiley ones left. Few more pellets might make the difference :)

28 Browning Superpoised ,28 Beretta 686 for roosters with 7/8 oz nickel #6. Rem 870 and 1100 LW for Woodcock with 3/4oz hard 8 1/2 copper all handloads . Started with the 28 in the early seventies the love is still there.
That's a nice group of 28 gauge guns you have there ,warsaw.Do you have a favourite among them?I got my first 28 gauge back in 1967.A Winchester Cooey Model 84.Still have the gun.:)

Yes I dare say, the 28 gauge 3 inch shells would give you an extra edge, on those smart late season pheasant.

At present, I do not have a 3 inch 28 gauge, but at some point in time,I will get one.:)
