Who is Using a 28 Gauge, This 2025-26 Hunting Season

I've had 7 of them. 3-20 ga Grade V's, 2 standard grade 20's, a 28 Grade V and a standard grade 28...never fired any of them. Lol
The one I had, was a Grade 1 28 gauge.
Do you still have your guns or did you part with them over time?
Yes ,the 28 gauge is a great upland gauge indeed.In the past, I had a 28 gauge Ruger Red Label as well.

Like you ,I prefer lighter 28 gauge guns for field use.I have used heavier guns,but usually use them only for shorter hunts.

I sold them all.
I have a Rizzini Artemis light 20g for a week now and it has been everything I had hoped for ,and I'm not just saying that because I want to justify its cost. The balance is perfect finishing is truly exceptional ,shot 3 rounds of trap ,gun down and was very pleased with how it came up and pointed as well for a light gun with trap loads recoil was less ,than I expected. Last day of pheasants yesterday packed it for 10k and not an issue ,that was the best part. Missing the last pheasant of the year was my fault but I could tell a lot of why's but just plain missed. We will see after a couple hundred more rounds at the skeet field ,chokes are in route now ,Thank you Santa

Out yesterday afternoon for a short partridge/rabbit hunt.About an hour and a half ,before dark.
Took My Winchester Model 370 single shot and some Remington shells, to try and change my luck.Make no difference.Never saw a thing.
Any one else having any 28 gauge hunting luck?

The Browning/Win 12’s are a well built excellent handling game gun. Most memorable mallard shoot for me and my son was with the above Mod 12’s with 28g Kent bismuth shells…
The Rizzinis are a class act too!! Have 3, no regrets….The 20g is versatile, the 28g is sweeet and the 410 with 32” barrels is a freak.
Rabbits have been down here for a number of years now.At some point they will rebound.What I call rabbits ,are really snowshoe hare.They do go in a cycle.
