Who makes a good 30 30 now?

Well, my interest in the 30-30 is to load 'er up with lead and shoot silhouette at our cowboy shoots.

The 30-30 dates back to 1894. For me, that's where it fits. I'm not sure the 165 lead will knock down a ram, but know what, I'm gonna have fun trying! :D

I think we all know how you feel about the 30/30 now gtrussel. Time to move away from this thread as your negative comments are at this point painfully redundant. Maybe start a " who hates the 30/30" thread and you can find like minded individuals who share your point of view on lever guns?
 
Check out the new Winchester 94s made by Miroku. Prolly about as nice a 30-30 for fit and finish as you will see. If they are anywhere near as nice as my Browning SRC Miroku...
 
Picked up a Rossi Rio Grande in .30-30 Win.
This is the smoothest, most accurate, rifle with the lightest, most crisp trigger I have ever seen on a stock lever action.
The extractor spring is a little light but I'd rather have brass landing at my feet than thrown 15 feet over my shoulder and have to tip toe through the tulips for 10 minutes trying to recover them,
Less than 1 MOA with the factory Hornady LeveRevolution 160 grain FTX ammo off a rest.
Threw a cheap Bushnell Trophy XLT 1.75-4x33mm scope on it.
Great combo!
I see they are offering the Rossi Rio Grande in .45-70 GVT on the Frontier Firearms (one of CGNs sponsors) website.
I have an older Marlin Guide Gun in .45-70 now and don't need another.

I'm not big on lever guns, but that IS a fine example and a better chambering than 30/30 to boot! :)

I own a miruku 30:30 Made in Japan for Winchester, its amazing and of much better quality than usa 30:30 models, steel butt plate, amazingly smooth action, awesome wood, you cant go wrong
 
If you want a good 30-30 buy an older Marlin JM stamped or a pre 64 Winchester 94. These guns are priced higher for a reason . Reason being quality and I would pay the money for the old boy long before buying the new models.
