Hey Guys!

I am currently looking for a good .17 HMR. I've shot a buddies before and loved it! I am just not sure on which ones are better than the others because I've only shot the one make. (it was a Savage)

Thanks!

I shoot Savage and Henry and Ruger... but this is likely to turn into a Savage vs CZ thread... allow me to paraphrase... 8 out of 10 are going to say "get a CZ"... six of those have never owned or shot one.

I bought a CZ 452 American LH in 17HMR, topped it off with a Vortex Diamond back 4-12 AO and never looked back !!

I highly recommend this set up .

Well, I have a few CZ's but just not a .17 HMR one. If it is anything like the others, it will be a great gun. On a side note, in 35 years of owning guns, the only one's I sold were Savage. They are very accurate but otherwise, blah...

The bolts are clunky and the stocks are just ordinary. I will probably never get one again.

Had a salvage hmr. Hot ok average was 1.5" at 100 yards. Felt like a toy to me and the action was just ugly looking. Sold it and bought a cz 452 and shoots much better, looks better, feels better. Shoots less then 1" at 100 yards. The minimum I would get is a cz if your pockets are deeper start looking at anschutz or cooper.

Cz 452 american, dip rail, leupold rings and 3-9 vortex viper

I had a heavy barrel Marlin that shot really good, but felt cheap. I looked at the Savage, but it didn't feel that much nicer than the Marlin. Bought a CZ455 varmint, and not looking back. It's about 1/2 MOA at 100 yards when it's calm and I do my part. I'm fairly confident I could light off a shotgun shell at 100yrds after centre punching a spent hull 2 for 2.

I like standing a bunch up at 200 yards and nocking em down shot for shot.

I own 2 savage 93r17 rifles. Thumb hole stainless and trrsr.
Both are ridiculously accurate at 50yds. (.443" group 10 shots)
Both will, on a calm day, hit within 1moa at 200.
And my glass is only a $125 bushnell 3-9 x
And a jager 6-24x (not high end at all)

I love them.
