Uxbridge is a great club. The people who belong and work there don't deserve this kind of crap from anyone.

I'm at Uxbridge on (at least) once a week, not only is Doug Baker a great manager he is a tremondous coach! (also the only NSSA level 2 instrucor in Canada)

Debbie is always pleasant and an asset to the club. If someone had a problem there is was probably the fault of the guest!

I am sure the owner does not have an idea what kind of unfriendly atmosphere has been created there by a supervisor considering it is ok to talk to customers using curse language.

With that attitude not-so-swiftability and his friends won't do much shooting. I can think of a couple of far less tolerant clubs that would have given them the boot just for arguing about not getting member rates.
 
I have two clubs half an hour from my house but I travel 1 1/2 hrs to shoot at Uxbridge, Doug is great , never had a problem at this club and I have been shooting at Uxbridge since 1990.
You must have done something wrong, Doug will not let it pass .

This field is restricted (by the CFO) to #9 shot only & is prominently signed to this effect. When questioned about this their response was that they did not see the sign.

After this incident they moved to field #4 & once again monopolized this field while club members were waiting to shoot.

I am sorry, Rod B, but you were misinformed. Someone was too quick to tell you "the true story" and for some reason you decided to disclose it ASAP. Alright, here is my turn.

- I am a reloader myself and always have my hulls with me in a separate bag I have on my belt.
- I spoke to the cashier with a respect. No verbal abuse at all, otherwise I would be kicked out right then. All my rudeness was that I asked for a receipt when paid cash. And also asked for a Visitor's badge.
- I personally shot #9 shot I am buying from Hummason and Lawry's. That's for skeet. For that reason I pick all my shells up. The conflict was between me and the person.
- After the "Club Manager" forced us to leave the field #2, he left there to shoot himself. He showed up with his gun, safety equipment and ammunition. And was shooting after we left. I think that "the reliable source" forgot to mention this to you.
- After we moved to the field #4, we joined another 3 gentlemen shooting there and had a nice round or two. The word "monopolized" is used to misinform the readers. Just think about it, - how could 2 shooters "monopolize" a field located right in front of a clubhouse? Bullying and not allowing anyone to join? Can you really imagine this? Who would tolerate such a behaviour?

I am ready to go through a Polygraph, if you want. If I am lying, I'll pay you twice the charge for the testing. Same for you, as you decided to advocate the rude and unfair supervisor. Want to try?

Dear Claybuster,

I want to tell you something to clarify. Me and my friend are not teenagers with pump/tactical shotguns breaking the rules with the finger highly raised. We are adults in their 40 & 50 and follow the rules wherever we shoot. Please don't judge us by the information you read here. I did not argue about the rates. I agreed with them by giving $50 for the 5 rounds to the cashier and I have a receipt. Yes, I thought for some time whether to pay the rate or go to other club after Doug showed up but I was not rude at all, I was silent. So I agreed with the situation and with the rules; I paid the fees and went to have a shooting workout. Yes, I call it a "workout" because I am working on my shooting and going to shoot registered one day. With such in my mind I don't have any intention to consciously break the rules. And I did not.

It would appear that you are the only person posting on this forum that has any complaints about the management of USS. This speaks volumes.

I find the last paragraph of your post amusing, you come across as a drama queen. A polygraph test can be inconclusive. Suggest you cut the crap & learn some range etiquette.
 
I think swiftability should consider himself fortunate, and move on to shoot elsewhere. As stated previously, other clubs would be less tolerant. Shooting as a guest at a member owned club is a privledge. As a part owner of a member owned club, if I had to deal with and individual like this, I can guaranteee you the result would have been far more unpleasant for the individuals involved. And to moan and whinge in a forum like this because your feelings are hurt is just infantile.
Be polite and gracious, obay the rules and pay what's is asked, get invited back. If you dont like it, stay at home.
 
I actually didn't follow the thread since the first page because got the contacts I was looking for. Came yesterday first time since March and read all the posts of 'informed people'.

I am polite and do follow the rules respecting other shooters. Don't judge me based on the story posted by Rod B. It is false.

You are claiming that I am posting false information, however your behavior was witnessed by others at USS.

The only thing false is your sense of self righteous indignation. This is my final post in response to your outrageous comments. I will not lower myself to your level of pathetic whining.

It doesn't matter your age or what type of gun you are using. I've seen young guys with tactical shotguns who are respectful, intelligent and safe. I've also seen ignorant, middle-aged douchebags with fancy over/unders.

I shoot at Uxbridge occasionally. I have dealt with the man who you criticized and know many other shooters there. I am judging you by my experience, knowledge of the club, your behavior here and the complete absence of anyone else supporting your observations. So it's very clear into which category you fall.
