I find as I get older, I have less discreationary time or desire to spend at the reloading bench on a regular basis. These days, matches are shot centerfire (unless I can find a Rimfire Action match), and practice is done with a .22 LR.
My Kimber .22 conversion kit on my Colt Government Model, with the Tactical Solutions dedicated .22 upper on my AR-15
I'm more than willing to admitt it. I would be safe in saying that you can't get a "manly caliber" to shoot 1/2" 5 shot groups all day long at 25 yards....
I could not believe how accurate my Xesse was once I put a red dot on it. I could only imagine what kind of groups could be had in low wind, with sorted match ammo.
It's my "go-to" gun when it comes to shooting groups offhand. the only factor I have to worry about is my skill.
I bethcha I could shoot the bullsye out faster with five rounds of .22, than most guys here could with one round from the "deagle".
Owning a hand cannon does not make one "manly" - Scoring accurately, repeatedly, without posing, is a little more manly in my world... Kinda like a minivan full of car seats is WAY more impressive as a sign of masculinity, than a ferrari full of fake boobs...
I shoot ..22 all the time. Mainly because it's cheap. I like the large caliber guns that make a big bang and have a good kick for their fun factor. But it's just not practical or economical to do a lot of paper punching with them. A .22 comes with me on every range trip.
man, who the #### cares what anybody thinks. If some fudd(or anyone else) doesn't like my AR, or my shoes, or what have you, then I'm fine with it. Big calibres or trucks do not a man make.
