I'm trying to ship factory ammo from Ont to BC. So far Purolator, USP, DHL and CanPar have all said NO. The options in rural Ont are drying up.......any suggestions. Thanks for any ideas.....wTc

DhL will do it... Its the only one it can't be shipped with a firearm make sure its a secure shipment ground priority thats what they want...

CanPar said no? I get ammo from budgetshootersupply through canpar all the time. Cheap as dirt too for the ammo and shipping. BC to Alberta for 250 rds is about $14 shipped to your door.

Don't give up too easily! The 1.4S designation is the key. I was refused by Purolator but when I called their head office I was directed to a government phone number ( I believe Transport Canada) and the person there was very helpful. I labelled the package 1.4S with the appropriate orange triangle sticker that I made myself and the same Purolator office that had refused me took it with no problem whatsoever.

I have shipped ammo with Canpar before and received it via Canpar and DHL.

Of the two, I would only use Canpar again.

I was waiting for several crates of ammo to come in from Saskatchewan a few years ago, and some DHL idiot halted the shipment at Winnipeg saying it wasn't properly labelled.

It took a lot of calling to head office from me and the retailer to get them moving again.

When they finally arrived, the cases were plastered with the 1.4S labels that the retailer had put on them.

Not to mention that I had paid through the nose for the extra shipping costs of hazardous materials.

I personally think that some lazy bastard was just unwilling to pick up the heavy crates, so he left them for the next truck.

UPDATE: I finaly got CanPar to ship it....I inquired about 'special care' shipping and the dude didn't know anything about it but he took my parcel and shipped it without asking many questions. FYI it cost 34.?? + tax so basically 40$ to ship a 5.5 lb 4"x8"x12" parcel from Ont to BC with a promised 5 B days delivery. Not sure if thats a good or bad price but the parcel is on its way.
