Actually, I like it to and I'm not a great fan of lever rifles. Whoever did the work did a nice job and maybe even made the rifle a little more user friendly. I just wouldn't put that much time and effort into a lever gun.
I must admit though of the lever guns, and I don't class single shot rifles as lever guns, I do like the look and balance of the Marlins. bearhunter

Looks cool to me, and it looks more useful than stock. Seeing the same old thing all the time with rifles gets pretty old. I'm not a big lever action fan, but that one I don't mind at all...

In regards to shooting and hunting forums, there isn't a more critical and opinionated crowd than Gunnutz on the intraweb. We have more armchair game wardens and rifle and scope fashion police than any site around. :rolleyes:

i agree with calum thought i'd probly pick a low mounted aim point it looks good to me one of the reasons i don't like lever actions is cause they look like lame old fashoned hokey pokey (and you turn your self around and thats what it's all about) hick guns this looks "cool" like something i wouldn't mind carrying it looks wicked cause it's old with a little bit of the new it doesn't make me think of something a 60 year old would cary

Even though I personally think it is a shame as there weren't a lot of these shorter barrel Marlins built and I'd love to buy one, the more important questions is, can you hit what you are aiming at with it? Hey if it puts meat in the freezer, then that's the point. But alas, I too am a fan of bluing and walnut - too bad, a real waste of a gun and its original value.

One of those levels is the asking price....:rolleyes: But, in all fairness, I hope that he gets what he's asking for. Seems some folks like it, wish 'em the best. ;)
