Heads up to all or maybe Im the last to know, but I think the organizational level of Wholesale Sports has hit a new low. Likely the worst experience I have ever had with a supplier.

I was on the hunt for some Reloading components early in December. Found some on-line at Wholesale and ordered up a bunch of bullets. Items were in stock and I got the confirmation of order so Im good to go. Not so fast.

2 1/2 weeks later I get an email saying they are out of stock and the order has been cancelled. I go back on line and they are still showing as on line. I get that these items are hard to find but 2 1/2 weeks later?? I promptly emailed back and asked " why the delay". Their response was almost comical as they had said they have made numerous attempts to contact me and left a few voice mails and a few emails. Either of which were never received. Checked my profile and the phone number is correct as well. They obviously had the right email as I got the cancellation notice. Im pretty anal about keeping up on any kind of messages so my BS detector is starting to beep loudly. Anyhow, they have them in stock as well according to the web site at 3 different stores in Alberta which is where I was. Drove to the first store and no stock on the shelves. Checked with staff and they started laughing and quickly commented on the uselessness of ordering on line as its a real hit or miss. But they had an answer. They would check the computer internally.

Everybody's out except Calgary. They have a bunch. Phoned down there and of course they are out there as well.

Ok crap happens and its a busy time, but they literally lie to your face about trying to rectify the situation. That is upsetting and means they are not trustworthy.

Fired off an email to customer service (with no profanity) and absolutely no response. And I mean nothing.

As luck would have it I get a gift card for Christmas for Wholesale sports from a family member so Im off to the physical store. Talked to a manager on site and relayed the info, hoping that I was missing a "key" piece of info. He just smiled and shook his head and said " welcome to my world".

Its really too bad as the staff at the physical locations are quite nice and are understanding, but honestly, Management, web site, inventory and customer service need a serious review.

Yup they are a joke.
Some nice people that work at there stores but there inventory and syock SUCK. Most the employees know this. If i need something it is the last place i check and never hold my breath.
There are much better smalll businesses or even big chains to spend your coin at.

:)

it's great when they have stuff on the shelves, but if they don't just walk out, don't expect much

not the place to go for knowledgable staff either, place you go to buy stuff cause they have a lot under one roof, but not usually everything you want under one roof...and they have decent sales at 20 to 40% off a few times a year on various items

the plus side to staff that are usless, when they have a limit on 22 ammo, buy your daily limit, walk about, walk back in, kid won't remember you from 10 mins ago lol....stocked up on the green tags ;)

They should be called NO SALE SPORTS. They never have anything in stock and usually You stand at the counter waiting for half an hour just for someone to notice you are there. The first time I went to wholesale sports in Calgary I asked the guy at the gun counter for five boxes of 250 savage ammo, he placed it on the counter and went to get a rifle I wanted to look at. Another employee walked by and bumped into the ammo, knocking it on the floor. He then proceeded to start yelling and swearing and started kicking the boxes of ammo across the floor. I'm not very Impressed with their service or some of the additudes of the staff there.

NO SALE SPORTS Yuk Yuk. I Like it

I had a hate on for them for a few years due to some bad mail order dealings but the last few times I've been in the store they've actually had a few things I wanted IN STOCK. I also ordered a Tipton Gun Vise when they had them 50% off a while ago and it showed up quickly and without issue. Very surprising.

Sounds exactly like the d1ck that used to work at Russels sports. Accept he started yelling at a 70-80 year old man for dropping one box of primers on the floor.

I have a funny WSS story that I should share.

I was talking to a couple of counter boys one older other younger.

I was looking at Leupold scopes they started spewing that I should be looking at Vortex instead I told them that I prefer Leupold.

Next thing I hear they were asking if Leupold covers my scope under warranty if I shot it I told them I don't shoot my scopes I use them to shoot.

What if I drove over my Leupold scopes would Leupold cover the warranty I told them I don't drive over my scopes/rifles either.

These guys got so intense spewing about Vortex and their for any reason warranty.

I started to laugh I'd never listened to such a load of stupid I started to walk away from them shaking my head telling them what I thought of them and that I still have my first 2 Leupold Vari X 11 3-9X40 scopes that I bought new 35 years ago.

I was once told by a wholesale sports employee how he modified his sks too full auto, and after telling him how un-interested I was in it he continued to tell me how "easy" it was. I am by no means interested in owning something that shoots full auto, I have spend enough on guns that Id like to keep them.

I feel sorry for UFA corporate, as they bought Wholesale sports, and they dont know what they are doing in that realm, they should have stuck to farm goods.
Ever since cabela's have been opening up everywhere, you can darn near see tumbleweeds rolling thru WS stores, even during hunting season. Without a doubt in my mind, that ship is gonna sink. Imo.
