I'm getting all my gear ready for my first spring bear hunt. Have to be honest, I'm not a big fan of the black flies and mosquitoes but I am excited to get going. Hoping the weather will break soon, I'm planning to head up on the 17th to get set up, but there is still a bit of snow so that may get pushed back.

Anyone else getting the itch to get back out in the bush and start hunting again?

Absolutely Got the itch!

I'll be trying my hand at bear hunting for the first time here in BC.

I'll come back here and let ya know if I was successful!

Good luck!

Yup!

We will be trying to thin out the bears around our moose camp, including this guy if he is still around...

My son amd I are doing a combo trip... he is climbing while I spot and stalk black bears... my No.1-H .405 Win and No.1-A Whelen have yet to feed on fur.

Got my first bear last May and passed up the fall because I still had some in the freezer, looking very forward to getting back out.

Heading out the end of April or first week of May depending on ice conditions - going by canoe so need that ice gone!! Taking my trusty 35 Whelen - it took 3 last fall (one for me and one for each of my two sons).
